Re: DPS Stop near Luling. Is this typical?

Funny, I thought the MPA only protected the owner or controller of a vehicle. This passenger was obviously neither. The owner / controller in this case was the driver who was still present at the scene although not inside the car the entire time. I'm not trying to be obstinate, and I'm not a legal-...

WTS - Laser Grip for Beretta 92/96 - Price lowered, again

Model LG-302. These are the wrap-around finger groove Laser Grips with activation buttons on both sides. Like new. Made a deal for a 92 Inox that included these, liking the idea of the laser. After a fair bit of practice, the grip just isn't for me. All the paperwork, accessories, etc. included in o...

Re: DPS Stop near Luling. Is this typical?

If I am understanding what you guys are saying - A passenger not in control of the vehicle with full knowledge that a loaded concealed weapon is in the vehicle and can be easily accessed in not a violation in any way as long as they are not prohibited? That's not the way I have been interpreting th...

Took me a minute to decipher this sentence.
There were few "sentences" in there that I had to read more than once.

Re: It is Official, ATF & mutliple rifle sales

So, I'll drive to Oklahoma and avoid their reporting. I don't think it will ever start though. The President has no legal authority to do this and it should be an easy thing to defeat. When Obama was trying to sell this he also mentioned the electronic system he was going to use to store every purc...

Re: Revolver for nightstand and range time

Anyone have experience with Taurus Judge? In that it would be good on the nightstand with the .410 Personal Defense loads in it, and that it shoots .45ACP (range), might make it a good solution for the OP. I just don't know enough about the gun to recommend it. I have a buddy that has one and he ke...

Re: Documented Mouse Gun Failures for CHLs

Perhaps it is just me, but I don't include .22s in the category of mouse guns. I own one (a Hi Standard Trophy) and it is a fun gun to shoot but I wouldn't consider it to be a self-defense weapon. I'm not sure about .25 caliber. Is that above or below the minimum restriction for CHL testing? I once...

Re: Revolver for nightstand and range time

I own and love a Ruger GP-100 4" stainless. Bought it at a gun show about 2 - 3 years ago new for about $450 + tax. Probably could have gotten it cheaper online and shipped to a local FFL, but I saw it there and wanted to walk away with it. Learned how to detail strip it. Replaced the hammer an...

Re: Gun Cleaning/Care question

I try to clean my guns after every range trip, but my wife hates the smell of Hoppe's, so that doesn't always happen. My reasoning isn't due to functioning questions, as I and others have all shot a gun that was dirty at one time or another with no undue issues. My reasoning is due to a story I hear...

Re: got bit by the bug...2nd hand gun.

Good place to post this, the "Never Again" section.

Since you now own (or soon will anyway) 2 handguns, you'll never again be bit by the bug to buy a second handgun! Now you just have to worry about the bugs to buy third, fourth, fifth, etc. handguns. ;-)

Silly me. I thought the 1911 was designed by John Moses Browning. ;-)
