Re: Can't bring ammo into California

I've been driving from Ft. Worth to California for years to visit my daughter who has lived all over the state. I've been to San Diego to Sacramento and have never been stopped by either CHP or city officers. Just because you have Texas plates is not a reason for a stop. Just obey traffic laws and ...

Re: Can't bring ammo into California

Mine are simply referred to by their names, The Colt, the Shorty, the Backpack Gun, and Frankengun. Anybody that knows me, knows exactly which one I'm referring to. When entering California, would it be best to get a rental car at the border with native (California) plates to not attract attention ...

Re: Blindsided

Most places I go I have already been through and know the places where I will stop for gas. Also, I think that OPEN carry is your best friend at a gas station. Before I started carrying openly I would get asked for money all the time, I have never even been approached since I've started open carryin...

Re: CHL friendly theaters in Fort Worth?

Cinamark in Ridgemar Mall has posted 30.07 signs. Rigmar Mall itself used to be posted 30.06 but have removed their signs (not sure when) and the 30.07 sign for Cinamark is right next to their teller windows. Personally, while I like to carry openly, when going to a theater I am going to always cove...

Re: New Year's eve arrest at Houston Hyatt

The bad news is that the author, who is a lawyer but not my lawyer, explains that the hotel room is not treated as an extension of your residence. By specifically saying a rental of a hotel room is a license to use the room in accordance with the hotel's rules, it means the 30.06 warning does apply...

Re: Jury duty in Houston tomorrow

I hope I get picked one day. The government doesn't trust me to carry as a juror, so I don't trust the testimony of anybody who carries as a witness. ... The sides in a civil trial can become quite heated, and in a criminal trial you have, quite possibly, a very violent person on trial for (fill in...

Re: Jury duty in Houston tomorrow

I have served on six jury's, everything from a civil trial to a capital murder trial. I ALWAYS get picked. I am a Marine, retire Delta Pilot and a Paramedic. I just don't understand why I get picked. I answer their questions honestly but to the point. I try to look bored and totally non-caring. I s...

Re: Jury duty in Houston tomorrow

I have served on two juries in my life time the latest one was about 20 years ago now. In that civil case we heard a case about a Sante Fe freight train struck a pickup killing the driver. We found American Airlines neglectant, it lasted two weeks and I found it very interesting. I found out there i...

Re: Carrying at the Dallas Safari Club Convention?

When my kids go to the safari club they go to drink.

I wouldn't be caught with a weapon in that event for that reason.

Several times they had to be "poured" into an uber to get home.

Re: Gun shots in celebration of the coming of 2018.

It is now 19:11 2017/12/31 and on the west side of Fort Worth, just inside Loop 820, I have just heard the first two gunshots in celebration of the New Year. That's an interesting choice of times. To tell you the truth I never realized it. I am used to doing military time in reports for the departm...

Re: Gun shots in celebration of the coming of 2018.

Our neighborhood watch reported hearing the same two shots that I heard. I admit it's early but we're a neighborhood of older people and they might be old (like me) and go to bed early.
