Re: School teacher with LTC

I worked for a school for over 10yrs. The “parking lot law” of 2011 had a list of exemptions and on the second line it read, “K-12 school districts”. Unless the law had changed schools have the right to ban firearms on any and al school property including inside your locked, personal vehicle.

Re: LEOSA and TCOLE

LEOSA can be really complicated. I was told just qualify with your weapon with your department, carry your creds while off-duty, don't sweat it. My department requires us to qualify with our off-duty firearm anyway and I can see that being beneficial if I was ever jammed up in NYC trying to carry u...

Re: Ltc disqualifying question

It’s a second degree felony and that should only ban you from LTC for 10yrs for any juvenile felony.

Re: Home Security Cameras.

If you self install poe systems. I imagine it is like installing your own computer lan. Buy a spindle of cat5 or cat6, a box of rj45's, and the stripper/crimping tool. You need smaller holes, and you can get the cables just the length you need. I went out and bought a 100' cat5 cord. Only issue Im ...

Re: Really Ticked Off

I’m sorry but you shouldn’t get your LTC if you assaulted your wife. I don’t care how mad someone gets. If you lay a hand on your wife you wouldn’t be worth my time in a court room. Why should anyone be disqualified federally for a misdemeanor. If the crime is so serious it should be classified as ...

The less moving and fumbling around you do before the officer gives you permission to do so the better.

Re: Really Ticked Off

Im assuming you pleaded guilty to a class C assault to avoid trial from the DA. What is jamming you up is the victim in this case was your wife.

Were you arrested the night of the assault? What was the original charge you were accused of?

Re: Home Security Cameras.

I pulled the trigger and got the cameras I wanted at Sam's today. They were on sale and decided to get them before it ended on the 20th. Install was strait forward, took me about 3.5hrs taking plenty of breaks. I got the app on my phone and got everything working. I just need to fine tune the positi...

Re: Really Ticked Off

So you pleaded guilty to assault by contact? It’s a class C misdemeanor. Assault family violence is a entire different animal.

Re: Home Security Cameras.

I went to check on the Arlo cameras mentioned a couple times upthread. Recent (two days ago) article: https://www.cnet.com/products/netgear-arlo-pro-2/preview/ I know a friend with those cameras. He likes them but the price is the biggest drawback for me. Plus having to charge batteries and it drai...

Re: Home Security Cameras.

I have both systems running concurrently. An older wired system with a dvr locked inside the air conditioning closet. It's not easy access and I Feel fairly sure it wouldn't be found by a thief. I also have an Arlo wireless system that duplicates the wired system and gives me mobile access and far ...

Re: Home Security Cameras.

I’ve seen the wireless cameras but they are a bit more than I wanted to spend. I wish I could mount the DVR in the attic but I’m sure the extreme temperatures would cause the unit to fail quickly. A lock control box may be the best option to secure the DVR. This system also has an app you download a...
