Re: TRAVIS COUNTY vs. SAXET GUN SHOW

DEALERS as always have to do NICS without a CHL.

However, this is targeted at non-FFL citizens selling to another private citizen.

Re: TRAVIS COUNTY vs. SAXET GUN SHOW

It has been a while since I have been to one, actually a year or two so I cannot comment on current status but I do believe that they have in the past. I am just not sure. I am sure others can comment on that. The point of my post is the get the Commissioner's Court to reject the proposal. My goal i...

TRAVIS COUNTY vs. SAXET GUN SHOW

Members of TSRA got and email describing how the Travis County Commissioner's Court is trying to impose "Special" contract provisions on the owner of the Saxet Gun Show for the lease renewal for the use of the TC Exposition Center. The proposed provisions would require a NICS check for all...

Re: Who is this guy running for LT. Gov?

I agree with all of the accolades and comments already mentioned as to his accomplishments and goals. I would also like to add a personal observation. Commissioner Patterson would not know me from Adam, but I have had occasion to meet him several times. Once in San Marcos at a 'gun event' many years...

South Austin location NOT 30.06

I drove by there yesterday afternoon. My wife really likes the store and I have shopped there a few times myself, so it helps keep "Mama" happy. As we all know, if Mama ain't happy, NOBODY is happy. Any way, it might not be a corporate decision, or if it is, it could be the South Austin lo...

Re: WTS: Lee press kit and 10mm bullets/brass, Dallas

Folks, I do not know the seller and make no comment on the asking price, but I do know the Classic Turret Press from Lee. It is an excellent tool. It can function as a single stage press for those that prefer that or who want to start reloading by learning the very basics, but it also has the capaci...

Re: Glock 30S or XD (S) 45

I have had my Glock 30 for over 8 years and carry it daily and use it for IDPA competition. It is extremely accurate, its recoil is very reasonable, it has been extremely reliable and probably approaching 9000 rounds, it is very easy to maintain. I do not have large hands and the 'S' model was not a...

Re: The New Rule book for IDPA

OH! I forgot. One change that I noticed that I like is that removing a magazine disconnect is now legal.

This will be a boon for Ruger SR9 shooter and some Hi-power shooters, some S&W shooters and others.

Re: LAST WEEKEND FOR IDPA SO RENEWAL

I was really hoping to see IDPA dump the absurd limit/ratio of non-threat to threat targets. It isn't merely unnecessary, it's counterproductive for many real world scenarios. Based upon my conversations with IDPA shooters, it seems as though this was the most requested change, but it didn't happen...

Re: The New Rule book for IDPA

Do they still have 10rd limit? Yes, for ESP and SSP as log as all of your magazines hold 10. For example, if you have a Glock 30 with a 9 round factory magazine and a pair of 10 rounders, then all of your magazines can only be loaded to 9. Also the example of some 1911 magazines holding only 7 roun...

Re: Wendy Davis Announces for Governor

Her sights are set on Washington, not Austin.

She has already let it be know that IF she happens to NOT win the governorship, the has been offered a position in the Obama administration. She will fit right in.
