Re: Range Report - Kimber Micro 9 CSE

With all do respect to your wife, is there a chance of "limp wristing" causing some of the FTF's? This is something I have seen with smaller frame pistols. I don't think she's limp wristing, but it's possible. Some day soon, I am going to intentionally limp wrist a bunch of my guns. If li...

Range Report - Kimber Micro 9 CSE

Wife recently got her plastic and has been enjoying carrying my Colt Pony 380 (DAO brother of the Mustang). She's always wanted a Kimber, so we hit the Cabela's sale on the Kimber Micro 9 CSE for $600. I'm disappointed that the beautiful Kimber Micro 9 CSE hasn't given us the performance we require....

Re: GlOcK 19 poll

I carry a gen3 G19 everyday and have since I got my LTC last November with the exception of a couple others in rotation but about 95% is the G19. Who else carries the 19? I had trouble carrying my gen3 G19 for years - it's just too big. Turns out that my problem was cheaping out on the holster. I r...

Re: a new legging option

This is pretty cool... Dene Adams has a new legging option. With the holster on the leg, it's perfect for under dresses, where the ones at the waist work really only for skirts. http://www.deneadams.com/shop?category=Thigh%20Holsters https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=67L4Gh8fKLE Super neat. Re: If This Toe Touches This Carpet

First campus carry experience just now. I just walked my 15 year old to an office in the UT Moody Communication Building. Big ugly 30.06 So I'm sitting at the front desk at the Communication building this morning covering the information table for Judy. This wierd guy wearing a huge Hawaian shirt b...

Re: Academy 10/23-29/16: 6 pistols in .22, .380, 9MM, .40, & .45.

The Academy Sports and Outdoors ad, covering the dates of October 23-29, 2016... Thanks a bunch for posting these. I like the heads up, and it makes me go look at their ad. It also makes a record of sales easily accessible with a little google-fu. I've been enjoying Academy's recent Texas ad campai...

Re: 2016 Application Watch - post your 2016 timelines here

Thanks to everyone who has posted their timeline while I waited. It helped me remain patient. From the government's point of view, I'm a boring guy (no crimes, no immigration, no military, etc.), but I did have a license years ago (expired). Here's my timeline. 8/27/2016 Class complete 8/31/2016 App...

Re: Self Defense or Murder If This Had Been Texas

This article is an excellent example of the danger of proclaiming that an event was or was not lawful, without knowing and stating the law of the jurisdiction. If this event were to have been in Texas, it would have clearly been justifiable use of force. The victim was attacked with an impact weapo...

Re: Had to Pull My Gun Today!

I too have experienced the objective and subjective fear of imminent serious bodily harm or death as three dogs charged me from the darkness. I mentally prepared to have my left arm bitten and pondered the wisdom of bringing a pocket knife to a dog fight. As the lead pit changed his gait from charge...

Re: Got pulled over by DPS Trooper

Got pulled over by a Texas DPS Trooper... Super great interaction. He never asked to see my gun or my permit. He didn't go through my bag of junk in the trunk. He was extremely respectful and so were we. I enjoy all the "what if" and technical suggestions of how do do it differently. All ...

Re: Bass Pro buying Cabela's

Bass Pro is buying Cabela's for $5.5 billion. Good catch! Thanks for sharing. Link didn't work for me, but google did. I have recently been shopping a lot at these big outdoors stores. I feel like Cabela's is doing a great job with customer service and appreciation. They have friendly, engaging sal...

Re: BBC's "The End of Cash". Pros & cons of ending cash.

Really thought provoking idea. Con: Difficulty in proving abuse of the system. There are plenty of legal companies that have been denied banking services due to political pressure (guns, knives, vape, gambling, porn, etc.). The problem is that it's very difficult to prove why the transactions just s...

Re: Year for CHL

In my circles, we gave Suzanna Hupp most of the credit for getting it passed even though she wasn't in the legislature then. Her story was so awesome: law abiding, good people, who couldn't stop a lunatic with a gun at Luby's because they choose to follow the law and he didn't. https://en.wikipedia....

Re: Poll: Stop and Frisk

TLDR - Asking if it's constitutional, is not enough. We should ask if it's reasonable and tolerable first. I say no. Voting for Trump is asking me to pinch my nose too hard. It all comes down to the Fourth Amendment. If the police are given Carte Blanc to stop and frisk anyone that they can say look...

Re: Active Shooter Event In Houston

Silly question - a Nazi swastika, or the original Indian version that goes in the other direction? I watched a live video on ABC 13 as a robot and officers opened and investigated the Boxter. They removed a canvas looking ruck sack from the trunk. The contents of the ruck sack appeared to be wrappe...
