Re: I just had a reality check
I too have had reality checks, only they weren't dreams. Take from it what you will. I lean towards preferring a heavier, faster round but I still carry a .380 several days a week. Better to carry something than nothing at all, I say. Several years ago I was in a huge, multi-agency manhunt. At leas...

Re: Shootings Kill Or Injure At Least 19 U.S. Kids Each Day
Congress has prohibited the CDC from using federal money to advocate or promote gun control. CDC spokeswoman Courtney Lenard said the congressional directive “does not prohibit CDC from conducting public health research into gun violence” and the agency continues to do so. Translated: Congress tell...

Pass through shots/ liability
Saw this article and thought it was interesting. It does raise some questions. https://mylegalheat.com/blog/are-you-liable-for-a-passthrough-or-missed-shot/ One of the answers to, is if a shot passes through a person violating your rights and strikes another person, who is liable. Needs some opinion...

Re: How Concealed do You have to be at work?
My employer says our gun free zone policies will keep us safe. An employee can be terminated if caught with a gun. The office manager offered our receptionist a baseball bat to keep under her desk, just in case someone can't read. I am totally protected! :banghead: So do y'all have security monitor...

Re: Kansas Professor resigning - Campus Carry
I am all for campus carry, but also think that some training is a good thing. It should be taught in school. If it were taught in school it would reduce the amount of child firearm accidents. Having been in a classroom with recent high school graduates over the last 2.5 years, I find putting firear...

Re: PTSD and obtaining a LTC
No disrespect intended here to anyone, but in my opinion there is some advice being given here, unless something WRITTEN into law specifically addressing a diagnosis of PTSD being a disqualifier for receiving a license to carry, that is questionable. First off, where did the information come from t...

Re: Sugar Land Public Library
Aha, now a Library School to add to the Zoo Schools, Museum Schools, Amusement Park Schools, and TABC Licensee Schools. My car is a place of learning for my 15 year old with Learner Permit, so I am committing a felony every time I carry in my car. Carry concealed and you should not have any issues....

Re: RIP - Fines for Signs
... Scott, I know you know the law, but if you really do go through with this, please get some sort of legal representation before going through with it. I would go prepaid because I think it would be much cheaper and would really be a slam dunk for pretty much anyone who managed to pass the bar ex...

The only thing you need to remember with an out of state license is that you are legal everywhere a Texas license is except "gun free school zones."

Re: Black Rifle Coffee Co responds to Starbucks
I have done some work at a major coffee roaster in Houston. I have been told that all the green beans that go through there undergo some decaffeination. The aim isn't to make a less potent bean, but to reclaim some of the cafeine to sell. I was also told that today's beans have more caffeine than t...

Inform your Dr. that you need a statement on a letterhead stating: you are not deemed harmful to yourself or another person, and that you need it for work purposes.

Re: IN: Police May Not Detain Armed Hoosiers to Check for Handgun License
Good on both counts. Thinking about this I guess that I am sort of a liberal. The opinion expressed here is once a felon always a felon. I disagree. When a person commits a crime (no matter what level) and pays for it by completing his/her sentence (parole, etc., everything that was adjudicated by t...

Re: Private sale of a handgun by an Illinois resident to a Texas resident
Dd you fly or drive up there? If you drove he could then just gift it to you and keep the government out of it all together. Keep it at his house until you left and then put it in your trunk. If you flew I could see wanting to do the FFL transfer to avoid hassle at the airport. You can't legally tr...

Re: KHOU Houston - Texas police chiefs fighting 'unlicensed carry'
As others have noted, including Rep. White, law enforcement organizations and individual officers who have been promoted to the rank of politician rather than COP have falsely made the same claims against CHL in 1995, no 30.06 on government property in 2001, Motorist Protection Act in 2007 and open...
