Re: Gun Safety Rules

Excellent post. When I teach beginner classes, the first thing I do is clear every gun in the room, and make them verify the clear. Then I start with the 3 NRA rules, and hammer them about them. After that, every time they touch a gun, I remind them of the rules. Since we go to a range after class, ...

Re: Needed: Access Database expert

Do you need this to be a desktop application, or could it be a web app?

Not at home, but I manage 5 Linux servers at work. We used to use RH, but have migrated to CentOS.

Re: Interesting new gun

$169 for a High Point? IMHO, spend $289/299 for a Smith and Wesson SDVE at Academy. People have commented that this Smith has a trigger they don't like, but when it comes down to it, would you rather trust your life to a High Point or an entry level Smith? If you actually read the original post, yo...

Interesting new gun

I didn't say a great gun, so if you were expecting a CZ 75 or a Sig, move on, nothing to see here. However, I needed an extra gun for classes, as I find many people wanting to take a basic pistol class before they buy a gun. I rent a few guns to them, but I can't justify stocking a house full of Glo...

Re: Anybody else having trouble with RSD?

Yes, that's the website and yes it is a PDF and yes I clicked download. I don't know if it is a problem on my end or on their end. I am using a new Laptop, my old one bit the dust and sent all my files into deep cyberspace. Thank the lord for cloud backup I was able to recover all the important stu...

Painting sights

I find that at my age, the contrast between the front and rear sights is not sufficient, especially in low light. I have used commercial sight paint before, but wasn't that impressed. The gun in question, a CZ 9mm, has night sights standard, but the dots seemed too small. I went to Hobby Lobby, the ...

Re: Bought my first Mosin today

This thing was in like new condition. bolt operates flawlessly, it honestly looks like its never been fired. After WWII the Russians refurbed all the Mosins they could find and put them in storage, for the next war. Many of them had parts replaced out of inventory, and some were re-barreled. The &q...

I would be up for that. Of course, people might get freaked, as one of my Mosins only shoots straight (sort of) with the bayonet extended.
