Here's two that I haven't seen mentioned:
If you are a Coopers fan, I urge you to try Opies on US 71 between Marble Falls and Bee Cave. IMO it's consistently better than Coopers.
In Marble Falls, try Peete Mesquite on US 281 North. Friday lunch special is ribs and they are awesome.

Re: Demon possesed wireless keyboard?
I finally established that my cell phone would cause random interference with my keyboard/mouse. I can hold my phone in a specific place and consistently reproduce the failures. Your problem may be entirely different, but it's worth testing.

I was in the CHL instructor class that finished last Friday. They told us there are about 20,000 new applications a month coming in.

I am in the Marble Falls area and wanting to register to use the GMRS frequency however I don't have a repeater and they look expensive! Any idea where to get one on the cheap or is there anyone in the area utilizing a gmrs repeater who would allow me to use it? I'm in Marble Falls. The local HAM c...

Re: Jan 14 thru 17 Class
I'm curious about the process after the class. Are successful students certified upon class completion or is there some waiting time for certification? And, if so, what's the approximate wait time. Thanks in advance.

Re: School safety officer acting as security with CHL
Unfortunately, liberal El Paso Democrat Chairman Pickett didn't allow a vote on Rep. Shaefer's HB2535 that would have allowed schools and churches to do this, except that they would have to have been volunteers rather than paid personnel. Chas. Yep! And, I'm all about that. But, this is a paid posi...

School safety officer acting as security with CHL
Question: can a Texas school district adopt a policy allowing specific school personal with CHL to carry on school property and then hire a CHL holder, and call them a safety officer without the individual being either a commissioned LEO or licensed security officer?

Re: Pig caught in a snare
And I've seen hogs take more than 2 shots of .223 and keep truckin'. Like I said, if you don't have a good shot, don't take it. Simple hunting ethics. When you start spending your money and hours and hours of time that should be spent doing something else to repair damage from hogs, we can have a c...

Re: Never hunted but thinking about it - advice?
I've hunted all my life and still hunt most weeks. Here's some random thoughts. 1. You'll learn a lot more if you can tag along with friends who hunt instead of paying someone. It may be harder to arrange but in the long run will be worth it. Consider offering to fill feeders, clean up around camp, ...

I've carried a compact 1911 .45 in one of those for years. Never had a problem. I've had it so long mine is called a pager pal and I started wearing it when I carried a Motorola pager.
