Re: No Gun Apartment Lease?

Thank you everybody for your help. I am going to take the lease to a lawyer just to cover my butt. I will reply with an update. What? Pay someone for a legally informed opinion rather than relying on the accumulated wisdom of anonymous keyboard warriors...? Well, it's your money... "rlol"...

Re: Knowledge imparted onto you by less informed others.

I heard (second hand) that a zoo is a school...and a city is not a governmental entity. This apparently from attorneys licensed to practice in Texas. :banghead:

Yugo SKS Bayonet = Illegal Knife?

A few years ago I bought a Yugoslav SKS Rifle 7.62x39 with my C&R FFL. I was just little over $200 and in very good condition after I got the cosmoline off it. It came with with an attached folding bayonet. The thing must be 14" long. I got to wondering if this thing is an "illegal kni...

Re: No Gun Apartment Lease?

Can someone even prohibit me from possessing a firearm in my residence here in Texas? I thought that matter had already been settled. They can prevent you from carrying in their offices and other buildings, but your residence? My opinion is that they can ban you from having anything they want to, i...

Re: No Gun Apartment Lease?

I am getting ready to move to Texas and have found an apartment complex that may be really interested in. I called the front office and the first thing I asked them was if they had a firearm policy. They replied that they are gun free and it is in the lease. They emailed me a copy of their lease an...

I would have done it. I lived in NC, NY, and RI at various times when I was 21. Unfortunately no shal...

Re: Minor ID Flub At Chili’s Restaurant

Since it's CHL as ID story night, I'll share a few of mine. - I had a business appointment w/ senior US Army civilian official at the Pentagon last year. Asked for two forms of picture ID by the Pentagon police. I have a (contractor) military ID, but it was buried in my laptop bag and I was in line ...

Re: Don't deliver -- and run?

A long time ago I was outside in my driveway working on my truck waiting for Brown to deliver some parts for the truck. The front door and the garage are wide open, and there are tools scattered in the driveway. Brown pulls up, driver (with nothing in hand) jumps out of the truck and walks to the f...

Re: 30.06 at School Lot Entrance Valid?

There are some that say since the schools are funded by the government that they are a government facility and therefore, theoretically, can not be posted. With all due respect, any issue will generate every possible opinion. Only the law and the opinions of the courts count. An entity being funded...

Re: 30.06 at School Lot Entrance Valid?

Ah, I stand corrected. :eek6 I don't walk into places with a valid 30.06 sign anyway, though I didn't realize that it was that serious. I agree with you on this. I don't violate a valid 30.06 notice either, but the school's notice isn't valid because it is owned by a government entity, and its park...

Re: 30.06 at School Lot Entrance Valid?

Only the buildings or grounds where a school sponsored activity is ongoing are off limits. To beat it further with speculation, what if there is a marching band practicing in the parking lot a few hundred yards away? Does that make the whole parking lot off-limits? A few hundred yards away...? Y'al...

Re: 30.06 at School Lot Entrance Valid?

Isn't violating 30.06 just a trespassing charge? As in, you'll most likely just be asked to leave if you're around long enough for an officer to show up? I could be wrong, but I wouldn't worry about the sign. Violating a valid 30.06 is criminal trespass, which is a Class A misdemeanor if it is a ha...

Some of the guys at work were discussing this story and one of the woman asked "who carries hollow-points?" I looked at her and said, "Everyone!" :biggrinjester: "rlol" "rlol" True that. :smilelol5: Did she even know what a hallow point was and why it is the ...
