Re: Federal court: "We're not REALLY infringing"

I saw a debate about 2A back in the 90s when I was stationed in AZ. at that time, and may still do, allowed OC. The biggest sticking point and one of the anti judges on the courts (I think a dissenting opinion) was that you could still keep and bear arms on your own property . the courts could take...

Federal court: "We're not REALLY infringing"

The ruling by the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals was issued Friday in a case involving Washington state resident Gray Peterson...Peterson claims that being denied a concealed weapons permit because he was not a Colorado resident violated his Second Amendment rights to bear firearms...Colorado r...

Re: Victim sues Kroger and armed citizen who saved her

Toni Atkinson contends Kroger neglected to enforce a policy that prohibits employees from carrying firearms while on duty and “owed Atkinson a duty to exercise reasonable care for his safety” while in the store.

Re: Newbie rifle question: sporting + hunting

Thanks for all the feedback, gents. After reading through your replies, as well as talking at length with one of my buddies who hunts, I'm pretty convinced .243 would be just the right caliber for me: good enough for deer and varmints, and I don't think I'd hunt anything bigger anyway that would req...

Re: "You carry a GUN?!"

Other ideas for a response: SELF-EFFACING: "Well I was a little fat for Karate, so here we are." REASSURING: "Don't worry, the safety's on." POLITICAL: "It's one less gun the Feds can send to Mexico." CONFRONTATIONAL: "I'm not afraid to fight for my safety. Why, ar...

Re: Thoughts on the validity of the Sandy Hook shooting

The only thing I am remotely curious about is the early report of the man in the woods who was caught and arrested. I remember hearing about that with my own ears. Supposedly the InoWars video has aerial footage of that apprehension. Does anyone have any further details on that encounter?

"You carry a GUN?!"

Oftentimes, our friends find out (intentionally or unintentionally) that we have a CHL, and they respond by saying this. It can be a dicey situation, particularly depending on your relationship with them. So, I thought it would be a good idea to arm ourselves with a running list of things we can say...

Newbie rifle question: sporting + hunting

So all I've ever owned is pistols, and have never really hunted. Been thinking about learning how to hunt, as well as sporting (range, competitions, etc.). I know a shotgun is good for both. But with all the headlines recently, I'm thinking this would be a good time to buy a semi-auto rifle. Problem...

Re: Navy Seals in Bin Laden Raid punished

While I do feel for them, they are under a nondisclosure agreement w/ the Navy to not speak about "classified" matters. I know this won't go over well with some of you, but regardless of what the President or anyone else does, anything red-tagged goes with a non-disclosure. I agree with y...

Similar thought process to the OP posted here: http://sofrep.com/11430/it-has-begun-a-question-of-strategy/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Thought provoking if nothing else. His mention of "Mumbai-style attacks" is exactly what I think might hit us. Much cheaper ...

Re: Victim describes home invasion robbery by four suspects

You know, I sometimes talk myself out of carrying to work, because I legitimately feel quite safe at my office. But this story clearly makes the point that the time when I am most vulnerable is that walk down the driveway from my car when I get home. There are a few hiding places in my front/side ya...

Re: Road Rage Shooting in Houston

Sounds very similar to the very first CHL homicide in Dallas. Which was ruled justifiable. And in this situation, it's a similar dynamic of disparity of force (male aggressor, female CHL/victim). That said, some facts are missing in these reports, like - Was her window broken? - Who hit who (with th...
