Re: CHL Holders fire on Suspects
the use of force other than deadly force to protect or recover the land or property would expose the actor or another to a substantial risk of death or serious bodily injury. I think this is the main thing they should focus on for their legal defense. It's not like the the thieves were stealing a r...

Re: Scare last night
Now for the really bad part, my phone had been MIA for a few days.... Now for the gun part. How do y'all handle this sort of thing. Do you carry in your pj's? Do you have a gun safe beside the door? Hi mamabearCali - before my gun advice, can I first encourage you to get a landline? I don't think a...

Re: no holster. can i open carry a bag?
I agree, the triangular gun pouches are pretty recognizable to a lot of people, which pretty well defeats the purpose of "concealed." It's still legal AFAIK, but maybe not the most tactical method of concealment. I was just at a gun store yesterday and they had cheap nylon IWB holsters for...

Secret Service Agent leaves gun in bathroom
I'm guessing he hadn't heard of the famous "sling method?"  (CBS News) A gun belonging to a member of Mitt Romney's U.S. Secret Service detail was found unattended in the bathroom of the candidate's charter plane Wednesday afternoon. The Republican nominee was traveling from Ta...

Re: Mom with shotgun fends off daughter's would-be kidnapper
I agree. Question though (for anyone). Would she have been justified in shooting him after he let go of the child and turned to flee? I ask it this way, because I imagine with a shotgun she could not have shot the BG while he was holding her child.smoothoperator wrote:It's a shame she didn't end his criminal career.

Re: Brazil LEO shoots BG COM @ close range. BG still kills h
That was chilling. Watching him lose consciousness was just awful. What a hero. I don't fault him at all for acting. He must have felt the need to take down the getaway driver, he just turned too quick. If he had children, I hope they all grow up knowing he died to keep them and others safe from tho...

Re: Do I have to hide my handgun while changing/dressing in
Another option to consider, as far as transferring it into your locker, is putting it in your gym bag before you get out of your car. I do something similar on occasion: I almost always have my computer bag with me, so if I am ever in a situation where I have to lift my shirt up (like at a doctor) I...

Just a sign somewhat hidden behind the employee that said something along the line of the standard "no outside food or drink, bla, bla, bla. At the bottom it say "Firearms Forbidden". ... The point of this post is to find out what others think or would have done in that situation. I ...

Re: Dad's Old Gun
Great looking rifle! I have one that looks almost exactly like that, passed down from my grandfather. I don't think I'll ever have to / want to sell it, but I have wondered at times what these old .22LR rifles are worth. I plan for this to be the first firearm I teach my kids to shoot with one day.

Re: Have you told your church security guards?
Let's suppose that an outsider walks into the church with a gun. Let's also suppose that one of my fellow church members is an LEO or CHL . Without either of us knowing about the other, both of us draw and engage the outsider. Then what? With the threat hopefully neutralized, my next move almost an...

Re: The TSA: Now harassing Americans outside the airports
Groping people in public is a great way to get yourself shot in Texas. I'm honestly surprised they aren't regularly shot yet. Yeah, no kidding. For that matter, I'm surprised there haven't been any fights at airports over their tactics. Well, there was the "don't touch my junk guy" --> ar...

Re: Texas Judge: ‘Civil War’ If Obama Re-Elected
I agree with a lot of you that said this judge is probably a little nutty and is trying to get attention. But actually the nuttiest part of this theory or others like it is Obama invoking martial law if he is re-elected . I can see a possibility of him invoking martial law if he loses the election.....
