Re: Help me out! Polymer Framed Single Stack.

Well I give up. This whole being out of state thing and being a military spouse is a joke. The only place that had the XD-S 9mm which is what I have decided on won't sell us the gun. They say since I am the one wanting the gun and she is the one purchasing the gun they wouldn't do it cause they cons...

Re: Help me out! Polymer Framed Single Stack.

LOL TAM. That's funny right there! Have you seen "Maters Tall Tales" if you haven't and you have ever used the term dadgum then you ought to. I would like to get my hands on a PPS to check it out if I can find one. If I can't I am leaning towards the XD-S 9mm. I think .45 is just too much ...

Re: Help me out! Polymer Framed Single Stack.

My issue with the kahr that I handled was the position where the break was. All the way back almost as far as the trigger could be pulled. I can't find a Shield locally to handle anywhere around here. Been to three places today going to a fourth tomorrow which is also when I hope to actually make a ...

Re: Help me out! Polymer Framed Single Stack.

Well I went out today and put a few of these in my sweaty palms. So far the list runs down like this. Kahr CW9 no good the gun feels great in my hand every part of it is nice but the trigger is IMO unacceptable. The S&W M&P 9c nice looking gun the grip feels cheap and handle is too short the...

Re: Help me out! Polymer Framed Single Stack.

Excellent! I noticed the XD-s has a nice notch in the guard to give you more room for your fingers. I plan on trying to handle as many as I can get my palms on tomorrow. Big issue I have is that I cannot go online and just order a firearm at least not easily. My wife (therefore myself) is stationed ...

Re: Help me out! Polymer Framed Single Stack.

Well I would think again about sending out the gun EMP if I had it to do over again but I feel somewhat dumb now for selling it. Really anything in that size or close to it would fit the bill. As far as it being 9mm I would prefer as I already have a bevy of arms requiring that cartridge so it just ...

Help me out! Polymer Framed Single Stack.

Looking for a good replacement for the Springfield Armory EMP .40, I had too many issues with the gun starting to rust going back and worth to have the coating redone by SA keeping it oiled all the time etc. It was a tack driver extremely easy to shoot and if you were to miss with it you must be bli...

Re: Springfield EMP 40 Rusting

Yeah I should apply it to my side and hands maybe that would help LOL. In New Orleans sweating is a way of life if you are outside at all. Maybe Dec. and Jan. I might not sweat when I am outside. Really I just shouldn't work so hard then I wouldn't sweat so much although I don't think my paycheck wo...

Re: Springfield EMP 40 Rusting

Well more on this subject as I am still dealing with it. I have since taken the gun apart let every piece sit soaking in CLP overnight. Then cleaned each piece meticulously. That seems to have helped. In the meantime I try and oil it up frequently. Now I am debating coating it due to areas where the...

Re: Springfield EMP 40 Rusting

I have not tried a different holster. Ibreally like the crossbreed supertuck I have currently. The only difference I could see helping is getting one without the combat cut. I like the combat cut as it facilatates quick withdraw from the holster and I feel that is paramount. I also carry from time t...

Re: Springfield EMP 40 Rusting

Well I am still dealing with the rust issue. Eezox stuff works but you have to apply it about once a month. Even then you have to make sure you really work it into the metal. So now I am looking into some coatings. What's the best for a DIY coating. I am fairly skilled at painting so possibly I coul...

Re: Situation that almost made me think of pulling weapon...

I read this and thought about one thing that was mentioned. While I see the reason for driving to a stop and go or someplace similar I don't know if that would have been a good idea. Say the situation did escalate and there was no way you were going to get this guy to stop. He comes at you you pull ...

Ah that's life. We are all just people trying to do are jobs no matter what they are. There are people in every career out there that can be wound a little tight. Most in my experience are just like you and me. I will say I have dealt with some younger cocky guys and girls for that matter but I don'...

Re: Springfield EMP 40 Rusting

Just wanted to update this. The grip screws still rust. The armory kote stuff on the backstrap safety has worn off in one place the same for the slide catch. The Eezox stuff works though. I apply it about once a month or after I go to the range. So in short Eezox works the SA Armory Kote doesn't hol...
