Re: Washing DC Mayor Calls National Guard
From the great God Wiki: The president of the United States is the commander-in-chief for the District of Columbia National Guard. Command is exercised through the secretary of defense and the commanding general, Joint Force Headquarters (JFHQ), District of Columbia National Guard. The Secretary of ...

AP Stylebook said what?
Excerpt from Emily Miller's latest newsletter. The AP Stylebook is like a mix of the dictionary and a bible for journalists. We use the reference book to know how to correctly write out terms on any subject, punctuate and adhere to a consistent standard. When the gods who run the Associated Press gu...

Booze and fireworks
Mix no better than booze and guns.
Group in San Antonio drinking and setting off fireworks. Individual thinks is a fine idea to sit a mortar on his head and light it.
Firework malfunctions and blows out the bottom.
Individual does not survive.

Re: UPS Refusing Shipments from Brownell's and Ghost Guns
Once completed you cannot sell or transfer it because of the lack of a serial number. I don't think this is correct. Not that it isn't good advice. I was misremembering. You cannot make an unserialized[1] gun with the purpose of selling or transferring it, but if you make it for personal use you ca...

Re: UPS Refusing Shipments from Brownell's and Ghost Guns
As usual, I find myself "out dated". I thought selling any firearm to someone from another state required an FFL do the transfer. Maybe I am not up to speed on what exactly is a "ghost gun"? I had no idea I could purchase a complete "gun" with no serial number anywhere...

Yeah, they've already started here and my dog is going spastic. Tomorrow we'll be going to the country for the evening.

Re: debit card / credit card
If you want to use your card to do tap to pay it must have the wireless symbol on it, otherwise you'll have to use your phones wallet, be it Apple, Google, etc.
None of my cards are tap to pay.

Re: A Sign of the Times?
Walking the dog in our neighborhood found a 9mm on the ground. Funny thing was that it was right next to a deputy's vehicle that was parked in front of his house. Saw the deputy couple days later and asked him about it. Wasn't the brand that he carried.

Re: What happened to Paul Harrell's YouTube channel?
Looks like it got corrected pretty fast. Unlike Facebook. I got notified yesterday, with apology and reposting, of one that they had deleted....from almost a year ago.

Re: Uvalde School shooting
If someone can show actual evidence that LGBTQ+ people are significantly more likely to commit violent felonies, then a discussion about restricting their access to weapons might make sense. But without that type of evidence, it just comes across as bigoted, to be mild. The Pink Pistols would agree...

Daniel Defense will not be attending. I can’t blame them, it is a terrible timing. https://www.foxnews.com/us/uvalde-gun-daniel-defense-pulls-out-nra-event-houston Yeah, I've heard three vendors have pulled out, at least one because they believed the safety of their employees could not be guaranteed.

NRAAM 2022
Actually day 2 for me. Showed up yesterday to help with set up. This afternoon is firearm checks. Seems to be a bit fewer volunteers overall this year but more firearm examiners. The exhibition hall is jam packed as always. Don McLean, Larry Gatlin, and Larry Stewart have canceled their performances.

Re: Hotel Stay in Texas
I did ignore them. It was too late and I was too tired. They messed up my reservation anyways and had to move me to a hotel 3 miles down thr road. Walked in with my 1911 concealed and my AR in a bag. I can’t believe a hotel would even be able to do that especially in Texas. Private property. At lea...

Re: You're criteria for failing a student
Agree with AFOdin. Failure to score and safety are why I fail students, although so far I've only had to give warnings. I do keep an eye out for crossed thumbs[1]. Malfunctions and such just cost points. [1]Had an older guy a month ago that I noticed when we stepped up for the first round. Terrible ...

Re: black powder SBR?
If you had a cap and ball revolver, and attached a buttstock to it like Lee Van Cleef in A Few Dollars More , would it come under regulation by the ATF? Or any Texas law? No. You have to look hard but there are shoulder stocks out there. Only a few models and the Colt 1860 Army seems to be the most...
