Re: got finger printed today and then...
Not a problem at all in the Pearland L1. Well, besides some techinical difficulties with her computer, but she was able to get it up and running. Everything went smooth, no smart aleck comments. Lady was professional, courteous, and downright pleasant.

Re: Customer Outs Himself
A little bit of thread veer, but....
I've often found that even if there is a wait, alot of chains have open tables in the bar seating area.
tieing it back into the thread, being able to sit in the resturant bar area while carrynig is convinent.

Re: Advice for a new carrier. (Female)
Just be cautious if you go into a gun shop. Many gun store commandos will try and shoehorn you into a one-sized-fits-all-women's gun category. They will try and sell you the tiniest auto or the shortest barrel snubbie they can. Probably in pink. I have a Kel-Tec .380 and a RIA .45. The Kel-tec is ha...

Re: Pictures of your "Black Guns"
Not a great picture: Mossberg 500 with 3 point adjustable sling (can be worn as single point sling), and 6 position stock. Going to have the upper receiver tapped for a rear sight and add ghost rings, and I need a new light for it. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y88/Atc1man/Guns/PB140114.jpg My ot...

Re: "long" shirts for concealment
Undershirt depends on the holster, IMHO. I made having a sweat shield a must in my holster selection because of having the pointy bits digging into my love handle. I ended up with the Comp-Tac minotaur and its been a great holster so far. Another option for undershirts is to wear something designed ...

Re: Ranges in and around Pearland, TX
I'll have to try BestShot out as well. The Arms Room was really, really nice. I'd rate the facility a 9 out of 10. The actulal shop a 7 1/2 out of 10 only because of limited selection on stuff. The staff, a 9 out of 10 as well, they were all friendly as could be. Got a call Thursday from The Arms Ro...

Re: Check This Out Graphic
I believe the best thing we can learn from this video is handgun retention and certainly practicing your draw from unconventional positions. If the gun had been in a holster instead of just his waistband he might have been able to get it out much much quicker and not get caught up on his pants. Als...

Re: Check This Out Graphic
So... after seeing that, does anyone see the need for a 100% reliable gun? No gun is 100% reliable. Part of anyones training should be clearing a malfunction quickly. Tap, rack, bang. Even a revolver may not be 100% reliable all the time. Ammunition that doesn't fire, cylinder goes out of timing, m...

(2) "School" means a private or public elementary or secondary school.
I think that right there settles it.

Application question...
Okay so I submitted the online application. Checklist completed, all supporting documents finished. I thought I saw somewhere that I need a copy of my DL? Or do I just show that when I get my fingerprints? Second question (okay okay, technically third question... :rolll ).... Can I send in my suppor...

Re: And don't talk to Customs & Border Patrol, either!
Why is politeness supposed to be a one-way street? The officer (LEO or otherwise) can be as rude, nasty, or confrontational as he wants to be, yet you're supposed to be Caspar Milquetoast. The police can lie to you, but it's illegal to lie to them, even without being under oath. Seems backwards to ...

Re: Legal or Illegal Carry? In offices CHL leases?
That would seem to be "premises under the person's control" for the person who rents the offices. INAL, but I agree with cbr as well. What about CHL employees of such a corporation who are authorized by the owner to carry openly within those offices? Premisis under your control, as in wor...

Re: Emergency Concealed Carry "Clothing"
I wouldn't think that a dirty shop rag would make a great concealment garment. If you're not wearing appropriate clothing, though, how are you concealing at all. If you're carrying under the Motorist Protection Act, you commit an offense if the gun is in plain view. If you're carrying under the auth...
