Re: LEOSA range qualification

Excaliber is actually the one who told me about the process several years ago. I qualified him back then and many other since. I forget the name of the DPS instructor, but one sent me a suggested course of fire. I posted it on the wall in the range and have been using it ever since. It requires the ...

Re: HB 1927 on the Senate floor now

"I think it will be a little easier when the LTC-16 2021/22 comes out (assuming they still keep printing it)."

I'll be surprised if they get it done and available by January 2022.

Re: HB 1927 on the Senate floor now

Yep, the last instructor "in person" re-ups were in Georgetown. The facility was nice but the presenters were pitiful. There had not been very many significant changes (other than approving online courses) and the presenters were not really up to speed. While I have been to many DPS school...

.357Sig brass for sale

If anyone in the DFW Metromess wants to come pick it up at the range at a time of mutual convenience, I have somewhere around 600 cases of 357Sig brass that I suspect should be worth around 50 bucks to the right person. If anyone further away wants it bad enough to pay another 40 bucks for me to mak...

Re: Corona Virus (COVID-19)( SARS-CoV-2) from China: Its going to be bad.

Denton County Judge Andy Eades did a little Texas size braggin' today: "We did it again! I am thrilled to announce that Denton County Public Health (DCPH) set a new record on Thursday, April 29, providing 17,003 COVID-19 vaccines at Texas Motor Speedway and breaking all previous DCPH vaccinatio...

Re: Buds Guns

I dropped in Academy in Flower Mound around 10:30 this morning, remembering that Thursday was a "truck day". Gobs of people milling around in the isles when I asked for a number at gun counter. Got #71. Clerk said ammo was "still on the truck" so I asked if he had any clue what w...

Re: WTB: Glock 19 MOS Gen 4 or 5

I did not check details, but last time in my local Academy (Flower Mound), they had some Glocks for "reasonable" (in this market) prices.

Re: Am I A Nerd?

What has been working pretty well for me lately is Duluth Tradeing's Firehose pants. The right top pocket is appropriately sized to carry P365 with 12-round mag in a pocket holster. The material felt somewhat thin in cold winds, so maybe that will be a benefit when we get to July. Coincidently, I j...

Re: Portable Generators

Quote: "$1,700.00 seems a bit much to run just one item." I am far from an electrical guru, but think that $1700 setup would let a homeowner just flip on as many breakers as a generator could handle. Based upon the rolling blackouts that we experienced in our part of Flower Mound, I believ...

Re: Ammo trade (Want .22LR) have .223, 9mm, .45, and .308

If any plans to be in the North Dallas or Denton area, I know a guy ;-) who has an unopened bucket of 1400 Remington Golden boolits. And likes 9mm fmj by major manufacturers. And has been known to do a little horse tradin'.
