Re: Taking my friend to the range today. Her first time.

I love my shield, it is a little snappy. If you could even rent a .22 to get her started that would be great. If she is afraid of guns, getting over the initial "it is going to bite me" with a softer shooter like a .22 would be great. Smaller is not always "easier" smaller gun = ...

Re: Thunder Gun Range A No Go

My kids have shot at Thunder, and they even have a youth program in their Shooter's Club. I have not heard of or run into age restrictions at Thunder - interesting. :confused5

Re: Thunder Gun Range A No Go

You are missing out on some awesome training opportunities. The Shooter's' Club doesn't have to deal with the main range too much. I have never had an issue with the owner, nor has my husband. I have always had a good experience out there.

Re: Thunder Gun Range A No Go

It is his range, he likes to be in charge. Once he gets to know you he relaxes quite a bit.

Re: Thunder Gun Range A No Go

While most of my experience with Thunder is through their Shooter's Club, I can't recommend that group enough. I don't know anywhere else around where you can get dynamic training at an affordable rate. The instructors with the shooters club are awesome, they are extremely safety conscious and keep ...

Re: Missouri Teachers object to being shot during drills

This is supposed to be excellent training! Airsoft are being used more and more for active shooter response training. Builds those neuro pathways to save time in the real deal. One thing to run IDPA/USPSA scenarios, but if you get hit with something that stings pretty good that will bring on a whole...

Re: 2 year old dead after dog attack - shots fired

I in no way meant to imply that there was EVER a justifiable scenario for a child to be killed/maimed by a dog - I said as much in my post. I was just surprised to see the breed. It makes me wonder what that animal had been through to lead to such atypical behavior for this breed. I know there are &...

Re: Daylight Savings Time

I can't wait to come home and actually have some daylight to do something after work! LEAVE IT ALONE THEN!
Right now I am pretty much going to work in the dark and coming home to the dark within just a short time. I can't like it! I need my daylight!

Re: 2 year old dead after dog attack - shots fired

I would love to know the full story. Not that ANY child deserves to be attacked, but a bull mastiff is usually a laid back breed. I feel like there is more to the story. Prayers for all parties involved.

Re: Colors on handguns?

Sew Texas, You don't have to buy a new one! You can get your side arm duracoat/ceracoated in just about any color you desire. I am looking at getting my Shield done in a purple. Just so it is "Mine". I had to have my M&P compact done (slide and takedown lever, because I am "delica...

Re: Your Longest Shot

Pistol - 200meters - IHMSA - Rams - S&W .357 hand loads HOT. One time shot the turkey at 150m with a .44, but I was up and handing the pistol off to Dad before the turkey fell - That is the only pistol I didn't enjoy shooting! Well, that and a .40, but I would shoot the .40 again before that 44 ...

Re: Houston Rodeo BBQ Cookoff

I am wondering if it is not 51% with all the alcohol. Carry at the livestock show is not prohibited - just not into the stadium with the rodeo. This is the first year they are wanding though. Of course we have always entered through the exhibitors entrance too. But have never seen wanding at the reg...

Re: NRA 3-safety rules vs 4-safety rules

The first and then every time my dad took me to the range we had a "safety briefing". It started when I was 7, and after a while I had to tell him the rules. But EVERY time there was a review. 1. Always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction - the target! 2. Keep your action empty - don'...
