Re: Pot legalization and unintended consequences: Pet Poison

FWIW, I've used hydrogen peroxide to induce vomiting in dogs. Recommended by my Vet, it's simple and it works. :iagree: For all you dog lovers on the board, make sure to keep Hydrogen Peroxide handy. If you see your dog ingest something that you know will harm them, you can give them some to induce...

Re: Advice: Wife won't carry

Let it be. If it is a sore subject, picking at it is only going to set her heels further and put up more barriers If she is open to discussion, try Kathy Jackson's book and site - The Cornered Cat. Accept that not everyone can wrap a brain around taking another life, even if that choice might mean n...

Re: Prayers Needed

A sad reminder that no matter your age - today could be your last! Hug those close, tell them you love them.

Prayers for this family in what I am sure seems to them their darkest hour. Hopefully, they know the comfort and love of our Heavenly Father.

Re: Belated Happy Birthday to the Forum

Thank you to Charles and Moderators for an awesome board! We recommend this forum often as an excellent resource. One of my daughters participates occasionally, and the other reads occasionally. I have never had to worry about them being on this forum. Nor have I had to worry about those we have ref...

I LOVE the safety mindset of your youngster! Way to gom Mom and Dad! :tiphat: You now your comfortable carrying when you present in front of about 70 people on Shooting Sports safety and you are in jeans and a tucked shirt. 9mm M&P compact at my side, and after the 2 hour presentation a friend c...

You feed, bathe, fit, trim and show you cattle with your trusty friend at your side the entire time. Then only time you notice is potty breaks and the creepy walk to the truck after a 15 hour day!

Re: this kid with road rage tried to fight me today

Maybe it is a "Mom" thing, or maybe it is just a "me" thing. I can't untrack from the "put my gun under my leg" thing. One of the "rules" I teach in firearm safety to the kids is "never point the gun at anything you don't wish to destroy." If you alw...

Re: Target rich environments

I hate the crowds and the poor behavior, I have discovered that most retailers have almost the same deals online. I can shop in my pj's without ending up on "the people of WalMart" video! No one will spill my coffee, bump into me, snatch stuff from my hands and if I can keep the dogs at a ...

Re: criminal check for licensed professionals

So many background checks.... nursing license, ISD employee, CHL (all these required fingerprinting), 4-H volunteer (no fingerprints.) None of these would accept the background check or fingerprints of the others. I could get a letter from the issuing agency in lieu of the background check for 4-H, ...

Gander Mountain (north Houston) by us carries 5:11 belts. I don't know about your area. There is also a local "tactical/police supply" that carries CompTac belts in stock.

Good luck. Enjoy the class!

Re: Ladies... Are you training, shooting on the move?

I don't think you can train enough! I find the classes I get to attend to be very therapeutic! I am blessed in that there is a nearby range with a wonderful instructor (on is a lady) who offers monthly classes, as well as other opportunities. We shoot on the move, shoot moving targets, different ski...

Re: Alien Gear Holsters REVIEW

Thanks for the review! Always enjoy first hand experience. My only "concern" with their holsters is I would put kydex clips on them. The steel clips are hard on my thick gunbelt, making cut marks very quickly. I may have to try one out soon as my current holster is very sweat stained, and ...
