Re: John Boehner to resign

The solution is the ballot box. Who are we to tell the people of Florida they cannot again select as their representative a disgraced Federal judge who was impeached, convicted and removed from the bench for bribery, just because they had already selected him several times before? State office? No....

Re: John Boehner to resign

SNIP... I would urge caution in tinkering with the system the geniuses of the Constitution came up with, that has worked so well thus far. What "system" is that? The 22nd Amendment is term limiting, but only for the President. Obviously the framers saw the inherent risk in a "ruling ...

Re: Comic Potential in ICD-10 Codes

I have an ICD Code I'd like added: ICD-1 Insurance providers, when contracted to provide health coverage and paid for their services, will pay all legitimate claims promptly and courteously. Failure to do so will result in issuance of a directive that the CEO will go directly to jail forthwith, not ...

Re: John Boehner to resign

I find it simply amazing that so many howl in indignation whenever the phrase "term limits" comes up. Surely there are enough good Americans, men and women, to guide this nation that we don't need to construct a "ruling class" because there are not enough good people to hold offi...

Re: TX: Duty to respond and/or protect

.......At that point, I called her PD dispatch and again told them the situation. How did you call 911 from 600 miles away? Didn't it connect you to your local 911 service? Should have made that clear to people who've never been in Law Enforcement. The call center (Administrative calls) at night is...

Re: TX: Duty to respond and/or protect

My granddaughter called 911 late one night when a man pulled up to the side of the house and got out with a crowbar or tire iron in his hand and started banging on her door. After about 10 minutes of him banging and walking around the house peering in windows, she called 911 again at which time the ...

Oh....Laudy, Laudy Mae, it's the Big One! :woohoo

I would never believe it. Rational thought from Bill Maher. Reason flies. Madness reigns! "It looked like a......BOMB STUPID."

Even more tragic. Some forum members here seem to be a little left of ol' Bill.

I thought he was going to croak yesterday while the Pope was speaking. Between his weeping and John Kerry looking like he just ate a bushel of persimmons, it was a strange occasion.

Re: Carrying a 5" 1911 is hard

You said, "It takes "training" to keep from shooting yourself or others. The safest gun ever made is no more or less safe than the person holding it. It takes a certain skill set that does not come naturally, but is imparted by "training." The CHL class is not a training cl...

Re: 870, or 887?

Yes I do. In one aspect it (and all auto loaders) are more reliable. In the heat of a self defense moment, not working the pump with utmost authority can cause a hangup. The semi suffers no such potential problem. My 930 took a breaking in, like a pistol, but feeding it cheap birdshot (100 rounds) I...

Re: Nerdy 14 year old brings homemade clock to school and is arrested

I wonder if the whole thing was staged precisely to get the kind of reaction they got: getting invited by the apologist-in-charge to bring a "device" into the White House?" You think after all the reaction to "Islamaphobia" that the Secret Service would check very carefully?...

Re: Shooting skunks without them spraying

We had skunk visitors lots of nights out in West Texas. We had several rescue dogs awaiting adoption who enjoyed the company of Hope, our Border Collie. One night they caught a skunk and mauled it, but it didn't spray and was still alive when I arrived on the scene. They had lots of trouble with rab...

Re: History Channel Makes a startling discovery.

That's kind of the point of my post. Texas Rising is a perfect example. I stopped watching television decades ago... I keep an eye on it! Yeah, Texas Rising should have been named "History Channel Sinking." I was so disgusted with that nonsense that I ordered the movie version of James Mi...

Re: 870, or 887?

The 590A1 will serve you extremely well. I don't know how you are with the NBA size LOPs, but check out the Hogue 12" LOP stock kit. I handle shotguns better when swinging from left to right with the short LOP stock. You might find it useful. Best $50 I ever spent on a defensive shotgun. In fac...
