Re: .45ACP is still my choice for handgun caliber

.096 That is the difference in bullet diameter between a 9mm and a .45. According to some "experts" who seem to think that everybody is still carrying ball ammo in their handguns, less than a tenth of an inch in bullet diameter is the difference between an all powerful death ray and a sho...

That video is horrific. But it is a sober reminder that guns are no joke. Idiots all around.

.45ACP is still my choice for handgun caliber

I like the fact that it is lower pressure than 9mm, and also moves slower. With a hollow point, it should not be as likely to overpenetrate in dense urban areas. Don't get me wrong, I like the 9mm a lot, and is my choice for carry. But home defense goes to .45ACP.

Re: Am I missing something?

I’m an Ebay seller and I’ll tell you this secret. Promise not to tell! There is a sucker every day that will buy dollar store items for $20 everyday thinking it is “better” because they are paying more. Ssshhh! Don’t tell anyone! I have an old Rossi single-shot break-open rifle I'll let go for $500.

Am I missing something?

This 5906 is going for $730 on Gunbroker.

I have a 5906 on layaway at a pawn shop for just above $200. It's not as nice looking, but still...

strogg wrote:Nice setup. I've always thought about getting the Taurus 92. How does it compare to other DA/SA pistols?

It actually feels pretty high quality. No rattle between slide and frame, and shoots reliably and accurately. The SA trigger is very sweet, after the gun has been shot a bit.

It's a Taurus PT92 in 9mm. Total price was around $300.

Surefire X300 Ultra, putting out 500 lumens. It's almost as expensive as the gun itself.

My home defense gun - a cheap pistol

I really like this handgun. It's reliable, accurate, and comfortable to shoot. Holds a good amount of 9mm, too. With a good light, I think it makes a good home defense gun. Anyone have the same setup? https://preview.ibb.co/hHNLn7/IMG_2990sm.jpg https://preview.ibb.co/bM3h0S/IMG_2991sm.jpg https://p...
