Re: Beating Death
In my experience, boys tend to start out very aggressive and it just gets worse if we as parents don't put a stop it. The sooner it is stopped, the more likely the boy will grow up to be a responsible citizen. A huge part of parenting a boy child is civilizing him. Any child. I have seen more vicio...

Re: DMN today
I'm gonna play the devil's advocate for a minute. I read somewhere recently, maybe here, that the 2A intended to prevent the federal government from infringing on our RKBA, but did not prohibit the states from doing so. This was that author's opinion. Then the 14th only seemed to point this out. Mi...

:iagree: "rlol" :smilelol5:  That is ssoooo funny! I saw a whole bunch of "only in Texas" pics like that several years ago. One was a cop riding a horse with a radar gun spotting people. I sure wish I could find those pics. You mean this one? http://www.womples.com/2009/08/...

Re: Trigger pull "inside baseball" - Compare and contrast.
I believe a shorter/lighter trigger pull is inherently more accurate than a longer/heavier pull because of simple physics, kinesiology, and some ergonomics. The lighter and shorter a movement of the human body (including a trigger finger), then inherently the more controlled that movement can be. T...

Re: Ruger informal poll
My 22/45 is reasonably reliable, but will occasionally stovepipe/FTE a round, and doesn't lock the slide back. Since it simply a plinking pistol, none of these are of any significant concern to me, so I voted minor problems that didn't require sending it to the factory.

Re: Supreme Court to look at 2nd again
The way I see it, this will drift from being a gun rights issue, to more of a states right vs federal right issue. Sure the issue at had is related to guns, but the larger issue is can the federal government force states to change their laws. While gun ownership will be a core tenet, I think alot o...

Shodl have said DL OR SSN. I am not sure how much it happens any more, because I use a check card at stores, but it used to be fairly common a few years ago. Yeah, I was asked for my SSN once to write a check. Told 'em that if my DL# was insufficient, they could go pound sand & I'd take my busi...

Re: Trigger pull "inside baseball" - Compare and contrast.
I was reading one of the latest gun mags (free at Wal-mart!) which stated that a cocked and locked 1911 with one in the pipe, SA, would be the best self defense gun since the light smooth trigger pull would allow you to get off an accurate first shot in a self defense situation. Sounds right, IMHO....

If he had taken the option to fight, could the VFW have been charged with "assault with a deadly veteran"?

Re: Trigger pull "inside baseball" - Compare and contrast.
I've shot several long guns & hand guns. Please take this all as FWIW & IMHO, because I'm a pretty large fellow & have strong hands, so my experiences may not match up to other folks. In my experience, the best triggers are on the 1911s. They're short, smooth, and (in the words of Col. J...

Re: Posting of DPS office?
1. Can they post the building at all? I understand that they can post the non-public section, but what sign would they have to put up? I read the statute, but it seems unclear to me. 2. Would a 30.06 sign be the proper sign? And would the sign I saw on the bulletin board probably be pertaining to t...

Re: Irritating visit to Collectors Firearms today
To be honest, the attitude you describe has been typical of my experiences with Collectors Firearms. I much prefer the friendly folks at Carter's Country and Gun Emporium (among many others) to dealing with that sort of snobbishness. I find that I can get most anything I want through one of the many...

"Silvonus is not a bad kid," Tamaray Shannon told the Chicago Tribune. "He was protecting himself. Silvonus is not what they are making him out to be." Right... ...the dead kid was pounding poor Silvonus's fists and boots with his broken and bruised face and kidneys. Some...
