Re: Poll: Native or Transplant?
Born in Austin, spent my early years in South Texas, moved to Louisiana against my will when my parents divorced, lived there for three years until 1985, moved back to East Texas and have lived in Texas ever since.

Re: TX: Trooper vs BG shootout
One observation I noticed from watching the video...Montelongo is shooting from a Quasi-FBI Crouch, Isosceles Stance, behind cover/concealment.
IMO that is not the first time he has shot a handgun.

Re: Shoot it before you return it!
Everybody I know that has a 788 will not part with it for anything. A good friend of mine bought one, in 6mm, in 1973. Got the rifle, scope, sling, a box of ammo, and range time and got change back from 100 bucks. That rifle shoots 3/4 MOA with factory ammo and 1/2 MOA with handloads, bone stock. Mo...

Re: be cautious traveling to Juarez
Once upon a time myself and another Deputy did a prisoner transport and pickup in El Paso. We had to drop off one guy at the TDCJ facility in El Paso, and pick up another guy at the El Paso County Jail to take back to Sweetwater for trial. Before doing the pickup, we had lunch at Applebee's on I-10...

Re: ISIS murders two American bicycle tourists in Tajikistan
RIP So were these two just sitting at their kitchen table one morning, drinking coffee, and then all of a sudden agreed on bicycling through Tajikistan? Future Bicyclists should do two things: 1. Go to www.state.gov and read the travel advisories, especially the ones on every country that ends in &q...

Re: Ruger revolvers
My preference is the order that they are laid out in...4 inch GP, then 3 inch GP, then the Sec Six. The more you shoot them, the smoother the action gets. You will probably find Jimmy Hoffa before you wear out any of those. I have carried a 4 Inch GP on duty and did not feel undergunned at all. The ...

Re: FBI is our new DPD
What JustSomeOldGuy said. It also sounds like a good reason for DPD to bring back the Shotgun Squads that were used to great effect in the 1960s and 1970s to stop crime in high crime areas and businesses. If this convenience store has all of this criminal activity surrounding the store, then there i...

Thank you for the great information. Pretty sad there are no pubic shooting ranges in "The District".

Re: Thanks, Anti-Gunners: The NRA Is Now Six Million Strong
We are still about 74 million or so members short. I hear on a regular basis from gun owners that refuse to join the NRA because of their "politics". I respond with so you like the politics of the gun grabbing anti civil rights left better? The NRA does more for Firearms Safety and Educati...
