Re: Prayer for Mom's surgery

Thank you all again for your prayers. She was doing/feeling a bit better today, moved to the chair and back once. Switched from Morphine pump to hydrocodone pills. They are wanting her up and walking a bit which I think we will see tomorrow.

Re: Hospital Carry in Lousisana?

There is no prohibition in the statutes for carry in a hospital. However, almost all of the hospitals I have seen are posted. There is no exemption for state, parish, or municipal ownership of the facility and gun buster signs carry the force of law. There are those that claim signs only mean that ...

Prayer for Mom's surgery

My Mom will be having much of her colon removed on Monday (3/18) due to Crohn's.

Please pray for a successful surgery and quick recovery. They are hoping to be able to accomplish it laparoscopicly which would be fantastic.

Re: Senators seek back room deal on firearm background check

But, I think the 'compromise' that every one is looking for with a law such as this should be a very strongly worded re-affirmation that govt registration of firearms or gun-owners will never be included by law or order. That would be nice, but I don't know how you would codify it into law. One Con...

Re: Senators seek back room deal on firearm background check

For what its worth, Baldeagle, I agree with you. If you have enough guns for sale to be able to afford to rent a table at a show, you ought to do background checks just like every other table. I also don't like the activities enabled by armslist. I have sold firearms on gunbroker and sent them to an...

Re: Thoughts on the validity of the Sandy Hook shooting

^^ I'm not one of those tinfoil hat types of people and I use laughter to hide my pain and sorrow and would never think twice about someone doing the same.. BUT, I would never clear myself of the laughter and put myself back into mourning mode before speaking. That is what is just not right.. He wa...

Re: Budget Software

I use Quicken and have for longer than I can remember. I started using it because of it's ability to pay bills online. Of course, all banks now support this directly. But I have found that I like it via Quicken better. But, I find Quicken's budget features to be horribly lacking. Long before Dave Ra...

Re: Thoughts on the validity of the Sandy Hook shooting

Yes, I've seen it. I didn't think the emotions were forced. When you've been confronted with an unthinkable tragedy that affects you personally, you go through a range of emotions far beyond what others do during a "normal" loss. It's not all unusual to laugh, cry, scream and not react at...

Re: McCarthy files H.R.141, requiring background check on al

With checks of the wording to ensure private sales are indeed exempt, I would not have a problem with this. . . . What am I missing? Paperwork = Forms = Database = Privacy Concerns = de-facto Registration :iagree: Again, normal FFL transaction with records destroyed after 10 years. It's a slippery ...

Re: McCarthy files H.R.141, requiring background check on al

What am I missing? Paperwork = Forms = Database = Privacy Concerns = de-facto Registration I understand that concern quite well. But current paperwork is kept on file by the FFL for 10 years and then destroyed. This would be no different. I will vehemently oppose any attempt to create a nation data...
