Re: Three shot breaking into LGS
Man Houston has really gone up in crime lately. Not the first time a gun store has been broken into either, top range and collectors firearms have both been burglarized over a few years ago. Seems like every day now there's another shooting or armed robbery here in Houston. Hope my LTC goes through...

Re: Prayers for Barbara Bush
Mrs. Bush passed away yesterday evening, April 17. Nice to see some extended local news coverage here in Houston. Extra prayers now for Bush 41, George H.W. His health has had lapses the past couple of years, more so than Barbara's or at least more publicly, and the woman who he had known for 76 yea...

Re: FBI: Most violent city in each State ranked
A small number of crimes in places with very small populations produce statistics that aren't representative of actual conditions. A single incident of triple homicide in a town of 100 people would show up in the stats as 3,000 homicides per 100,000 people when extrapolated out to level the populat...

Prayers for Barbara Bush
I didn't see this posted elsewhere. Apology if it's a duplicate. Evidently former First Lady and Houstonian Barbara Bush's health continues to decline and she and the family have turned down further medical treatment. The focus now will be to keep her as comfortable as possible. http://www.foxnews.c...

I don't think you can find a better deal on good .380 than Freedom Munitions. It is mail order only, but they frequently have deals on shipping. I have done A/B testing of Freedom vs some big names (UMC, Sellier & Bellot), and it compares very favorably. :fire :iagree: Freedom has expanded thei...

Oh no. I met him once at a firearm show and he seemed just he did on Gunny Time. Wasn't he also a spokesman for the NRA? Or maybe he was a board member? Rest in peace, sergeant.

These numbers don't seem to jive with the ones from Business Insider, but the Houston Chronicle says that these came directly from FBI statistics for 2016, and the page was last updated October 2017. https://www.chron.com/news/houston-texas/texas/article/The-30-most-dangerous-cities-in-Texas-in-2016...

That and Saguaro cactus. Ugh. A place down the road just painted the side of their building: "Rustic Texas Furniture" surrounded by giant saguaro's. Good grief Charlie Brown! The Texas State Tree! :smilelol5: I do have a mockingbird that's so noisy that I'd like to send him to Arizona, th...

Noooo! Where did that come from? So we can write them and tell them to take 10 seconds to Google the Texas flag before they start printing and selling stuff?

Re: 2017 numbers
Just from my limited experience over the past 6 months, assisting with my employer's LTC classes, our turn out is much closer to 60-40 with many wives and girlfriends taking the class with their SO. During our last class in March, my wife, daughter, and SIL all took the class. There are also a lot ...

Re: Employers that allow their employees to carry
Not if they have provided 30.06 notice in the employee manual or have given verbal notice. :confused5 Just to make sure I'm remembering the code correctly, if the property owner or someone given authority by the owner, which I assume could be an HR manager, simply tells you "No guns allowed&qu...
