Chit-Chat section needed?

Seems we have grown to the point that the inevitable has happened. Religion, Politics, and other things that are a part of our daily lives... have begun to creep into threads posted here. I do not consider that a "bad" thing, but it may be pointing to a need to have a separate section devo...

Good info! To clear up one point...(and I know Charles knows this), the "Commander" barrel length is 4-1/4" instead of the 4-3/4" he inadvertently posted. Just in case we have a "newbie" amongst us. :) As Charles pointed out, regardless of length.... make sure your weap...

Re: Hey 1911 guys...

He did mention he was a little nervous about the 4" due to some 4" barrell designs having feeding problems, but has had no problems with this one. Is it just a myth that the short barrell 1911's have feeding problems? JLaw ! Barrel length should not be a factor as concerns feeding problem...

Merry Christmas to all!

I pray that in the coming year, every person here...(and the families they represent) will be blessed in a special way.

Please remember our fighting men and women, all of whom are in harms way. Their Christmas will be very different from ours.

Re: Mailed today

December 5 and the Texas Online system still shows "Application Packet Mailed to Applicant". Do that ever update the online status to "Application Recieved"? This is what I was wondering as well. Mine still shows "Renewal application mailed". I used delivery confirmati...

It has to be under 5.5" and it can not be double edged (sharpened on both sides, any part of it). A "false edge" is different, but you'll probably end up defending your position in court (not worth it). No switch blades, dirks, stiletto's, daggers, bowie knife or spear. Not sure why t...

The BG, assuming he cooperates to the extent that he lies down on my bedroom floor, will have handcuffs on him real quick, . Glad to see someone else has thought this far ahead. I never carry, that I don't have a tactical flashlight and a pair of S&W hinged cuffs. The first thing that enters mo...

If anything, this sure does reinforce and remind us to practice safe firearms handling...... I agree. It is all too easy to "let down your guard" when exercising those things we do time after time. In fact, therein lies the danger. Actions/techniques/procedures, that we perform over and o...

Or mud, or snow....when all that is needed is to turn your firearm so the ejection port is facing the ground and rack the slide. Good 'ol gravity does the rest. Couldn't be simpler.

Huh. Well, after countless thousands of times clearing a pistol, almost always catching the round, I've never seen anyone have a round get caught in the action as described here. My personal technique is to hold the pistol upside down while clearing it, with my weak hand cupping the slide, thumb fo...
