Re: Help Finding Night Pig Hunt

I agree. Pigs learn quick to come out only at night when hunted. At Boar Creek Ranch, they use green or red lights powered by a car battery from blinds shining over timed feeders for night time shots. If you have night vision, though, you don’t have to use the lights.

Re: Help Finding Night Pig Hunt

Not sure if it’s within 100 miles of Waco, but you could try Boar Creek Ranch west of Corsicana. A bit pricey, but nice cabins with decent bathrooms and showers, great food and excellent hospitality. For an extra $40 or so, their guides will even skin, clean and butcher your hog. They even have a ni...

Re: TX: The Low Standards of Hate in the Sixth Worst Airport

One thing about Chik Fil A. My wife once ordered a meal for her and our son at the drive-thru. When she got to the window to pay, she realized she had forgotten her purse. Instead of refusing to give her the food, they said not to worry and gave it to her anyway. She went back home, got her purse an...

Well, there’s at least two of us in this thread willing to admit we live in Ellis County. Not sure how many of us on here frequent this board, though.

Looks like they’re talking about the old historic building:

Re: Ellis County Court Opened To LTC

Interesting. I live in Ellis County. I’m confused, though. Not sure if they’re talking about the old, historic county building, or the brand new courthouse and county government building, or both?

Re: Stray dogs in Florida maul man to death in 4th of July attack

I admit I was scared when they came at me. It was weird how they surrounded me, too. I had one in front, one on my right flank and the other on my left flank. They formed a triangle. They were just outside my kicking distance, too. I remember thinking about those predator vs prey animal shows on TV ...

Re: Stray dogs in Florida maul man to death in 4th of July attack

Forgot to add, that if there were rocks or a stick nearby, I would’ve armed myself with them. Instead, they caught up with me right in the middle of an open field with nothing around except grass.

Re: Stray dogs in Florida maul man to death in 4th of July attack

I was chased by 3 stray dogs while out jogging near my apartment complex many years ago. I stopped to face them, and they stopped as well and surrounded me. It was a classic pack hunt move on their part. I doubt I could’ve taken the 3 of them on unarmed, but I wasn’t going to go down without a fight...

Re: WACO TACTICAL FITNESS BIATHLON OCT 12

I did it last October. Much harder than I thought it would be. It was very wet, soggy and muddy, which added to the difficulty. My AR got scratched up and still has mud imbedded in the buttstock. Although I trained by routinely jogging 7 miles with a 20 lb backpack, I was exhausted by mile 3. My sho...

Re: Best compact 1911? Or favorite DA/SA carry

Y’all have some nice compact 1911s. And I’ve never shot a Colt Defender but am now curious to try one. Anyway, it’s not a compact 1911, but I sometimes carry a single stack S&W 3913 (9mm) that’s a DA/SA. I got it used a few years ago for less than $400. I like it a lot, but there aren’t as many ...
