Very positive experiences at DFW Gun Range
Just wanted to share some positive experiences I've had at DFW Gun Range in Dallas on Mockingbird. Broached the subject of getting a gun for self defense and sport shooting with the wife a few months back. I had shot a lot previously, but mostly long guns. She was receptive but cautious. Had never e...

Hopefully, this isn't too far off the topic of this thread. How do you go about finding a lawyer who has experience in defensive shootings? I can't afford to have one on retainer, but I would certainly be willing to pay for a 30 minute/hour appointment to ask for advice on the best way to handle the...

Jeremae has a valid point about the doctrine of competing harms. Basically it says that it is ok to break a law if the harm caused by NOT breaking the law would be worse. Unfortunately, it is my understanding that this is far from ironclad and the results of using this type of defense will vary sign...

My wife shoots a Bersa Thunder .380 and loves it. I much prefer my XD9, but I would feel comfortable carrying the Bersa for self defense if I was on a restricted budget. It is a very good gun for the money. Easy to conceal, great trigger, inexpensive, reliable if maintained properly. I don't have an...
