Re: HELP, talk me out of adopting another pistola.
I was never a fan of 40. it always got stuck in my 45 cases during tumbling, or my 9mm got stuck in the 40 during tumbling. I always proclaimed that 40 was a pariah caliber I wanted nothing to do with. I now have a PX4 in 40, and CX4 storm in 40, and a 96A1 (40). I have all the reloading supplies fo...

it's at this point that you know he does not know the laws and is giving you incorrect information. really kinda surprising for a LEO at this stage in the game.liberty2014 wrote:I asked him about both signs and he had no idea what i was talking about.

an area in Texas that is gun friendly and that would not make it impossible to get an FFL. ha! is it possible to NOT get an FFL anywhere in Texas??? My friend, you're in for a shock when you get to the real world. on the FFL, if you're talking about a home based FFL a local city jurisdiction or HOA...

Now my question would be trial by judge, or trial by jury? Once again, Mr. Shasta says judge, but I feel that a jury may be more likely to believe the motorist. Your theory about the jury siding with the motorist is a very good one and it's probably very true - except for the reality that this jury...

Re: Selliors and Beliot for test
As TAM said, caliber is the only requirement as far as CHL requirements go. That you can shoot specific brands/reloads is entirely up to your instructor/range, check with them. I can't imagine anyone would refuse S&B. For my classes, if it goes bang and makes a hole in the target I don't care wh...

Mow your grass next to their car with the debris ejecting into their vehicle? It would improve the appearance of it. sometimes people, late at night while you're sleeping, will drive by and toss handfuls of pea sized gravel into your yard along the curb. it's really unfortunate when you mow over th...

Re: CHL Instructor Certification FRUSTRATION.
Keith -- wouldn't that make ALL new instructors qualified for the short class? Why even have the long one. They are not scheduling an abbreviated course at present time. Don't know if they will in the future. The ones I have heard about will be 5 days; 4 days classroom (M-T) and Friday at range. Wh...

Re: Late-arriving students
I heard a tale (second-hand) of an instructor that locks his door and will not allow a student who arrives late into the class. That seems odd, especially considering that many instructors I see are still getting students checked-in 15 minutes into the class. Do you accommodate late-arriving studen...

Re: Teacher arrested for gun in car at school
Since this is in the Houston area, perhaps there is an attorney who reads these threads who might be willing to participate in the defense so that no hostile precedents are set. The Michael Berry show was brodcasting this entire thing this morning. He was asking the entire listening area for assist...

Re: Range Qualification
Tejasmed - I hate to hear how poorly you were treated in your class. First - there is no 10 round requirement. In the DPS prescribed course of fire, you load 4, 5, or 6 rounds - never 10. Also, the course of fire should have been thoroughly explained to you before shooting began. You did not say wh...

Re: IBC Bank has now banned legal concealed handguns
So the logic is: "We have been repeatedly robbed, so we'll just put up these compliant signs to tell the BGs that they are not allowed in here with their guns." Mmmmmmmkay. it's not even that, it's a sign telling the GOOD guys they are not allowed in here with their guns. The sign (nor an...
