Re: Primer Hardness
Just to add to Jumping Frog's list, I have fired about 2K of the Tula 223 primers in my AR to date. I was hesitant to buy them because they are Russian but got them on sale for about $80/5000 a couple of years ago and, after a lot of research, could not pass them up. I use them for 3 gun matches and...

Re: S&W M&P C.O.R.E. Review
Seabear, Thank you for the information on the CORE. I have a friend that is interested in one of those, I will tell him about your review on this page. I have an R8 that I recently got and have not had a chance to play with it much yet. Anything that you can share with me on that pistol would be gre...

Re: Primer Hardness
Federal Primers are about as soft as they get. That is what most folks use when they lighten up the springs in their revolver or striker pistol.

Re: YOU SHOULD CARRY A POCKET GUN !!
This is a question I struggled with as well. I prefer to carry my M&P 45c when I can but that is not always possible. Several years ago, I asked two LEOs what they carried when they could not carry a large pistol. The first was a SWAT sniper for HPD. We were out camping at the time I asked. He p...

Re: Split Cases
Check your cases with a magnet. I don't have much in the way of RWS cases but I do find a lot of S&B 9mm brass in what I pick up after IDPA matches. A lot of them look like brass but are just steel with a thin brass plating. I first suspect this when one of those cases seemed to be harder than o...

Re: IDPA 9 mm power floor
I use 3.2 grains of titegroup and seat out to 1.165 with a 147 gr. plated bullet from Canada and get 905 fps. With the same powder charge, a Bayou Bullet seated to 1.160, I get 920 fps and it is very soft shooting.

Re: 1911 Commander Reloading Report
V-rog, Curious why you shoot a M&P 45 in CDP. You can use that in SSP and not have to run against 1911s. I did that (shot my M&P 45 in SSP) until I started working as an SO and was not able to police my brass (it kills me to loose 45 brass). Once I started working as an SO, I switched to the...

Re: 1911 Commander Reloading Report
Andy, Please let us know how testing on the two bullet weights work out. I plan to do the same thing after state IDPA as I want to switch from shooting a 9 mm in SSP and go to a 1911 is CDP. I am always interested in learnings from others. FWIW, every top shooter I have talked to in IDPA uses the 14...

Re: 3 gun folks...
Several of my friends are shooting the Benelli. They say it is superior (after you get all the mods done) and more reliable than the other semiautos. I have not shot theirs or any other semi auto. I have been sticking with my 30 plus year old 870 as we only used pump guns huntin ducks/doves growing ...

Re: DHS-Bound Official Warned Against ‘Christians'
JP171, Please go to the Wall Builders web site and spend some time reading there. I think your will find that many of our founding fathers were Christians. David Barton (Wall Builders) is considered to be an expert witness on the history of our country by the US Supreme Court and has been called on ...

Re: ATF restricting import of reloading components!
This make have been on the books for a while but the enforcement may be new. I used to shoot smallbore and air rifle silhouette up until a few years ago. One of our best sources for good pellets (made in Europe) was a place in Canada and we never had any issues with getting those shipped to us in la...

I was there at 6 PM and there was still a lot of ammo on the shelf. Maybe we are about to turn the corner.

Re: Trying Bayou Bullets
I emailed Donnie a couple of weeks ago to order more bullets (I did not look at his web site). He replied back and said it would be 12 weeks at least before he was caught up and that his web site stated he was not taking orders. I have enough to use for matches for now and will use regular cast bull...

Re: New Toy and Help needed
Burris makes scope rings that have bushings the rings to get good alignment with no stress on the scope tube. They also make eccentric bushings to address something like this. I used them on one of my silhouette rifles to address the problem of not being able to zero the scope. They worked great and...
