Re: Waiting Time For Residency Requirement

There is no waiting requirement. If you move to Texas with the intent of establishing residency, no waiting. Someone will be along shortly to cite the code for you.... ETA: Here it is.. Sec. 411.173. NONRESIDENT LICENSE. (a) The department by rule shall establish a procedure for a person who meets ...

Waiting Time For Residency Requirement

I had such good results with my last question, I thought I'd try again! My understanding is that you have to be a Texas resident for 6 months in order to receive a LTC. If I'm not mistaken, you can actually apply and take your class with less than six months, but the state won't issue the license un...

Thanks. She will be glad to know that she doesn't have to take another class.

Time period for LTC 100

I got a call from a neighbor. She took a class last April (a year ago now) and passed the written test, but never took the range proficiency test. She wants to shoot the range portion and get her license. Don't usually get this kind of question, and can't remember how long the LTC 100 is good for wi...

Re: Pro 2A Parkland Student Interrogated by Sheriff Deputies

Teach your children to say respectfully: "I would like to speak to my parents and my lawyer privately." And then to repeat that, and only that, as long as they keep getting questioned. AND...put your lawyer's number into the kid's phone so they can actually call him if they are allowed to ...

Re: Grand prairie main street festival

Is it on the public streets/sidewalks? Seems like it would be hard to legitimately post signage if it is.

Re: I've Been Doing This How Long?

Update:
Two days ago I emailed RSD and explained the problem with flooded records. I have received the automated response that they received my inquiry.
I'll report as to whether they can help or not.

Re: Church Security Team help!!

I understand the need but what does the church's insurance say about setting up security forces? I see tremendous liability problems in these situations once it is an organized church sponsored security force. I am not against it but I wonder about the legal issues and whether an attorney has been ...

Wow. Sounds like someone was put in charge who is well meaning, but totally ignorant about what he is doing.

Re: Cons - Weapon Lights

I am one of the anti-light guys. Did you ever hear the old Army saying, "tracers work both ways." In other words, a tracer helps the shooter see where his rounds are going, but it also helps the enemy see where they are coming from. It's the same way with lights. They help you to see if a ...

Re: I've Been Doing This How Long?

Good idea about the LLC, but no such luck.
You would think DPS has a way of looking that up, but would they go to the trouble?

Old Records Destroyed In Hurricane Harvey Flood

Like a lot of folks, we flooded in Harvey. All of my old records (only kept paper copies, but meticulously) were soaked for a couple of days. As we were cleaning up and throwing away ruined things, I found my records which by now were pretty useless. I plan on keeping them as they are, even though y...

Re: I've Been Doing This How Long?

I probably USED to have my original certificate, until it was lost in the Harvey flood like a lot of other stuff.
Which reminds me of another thread I need to post.
