Re: Traveling to AR, TN and KY

I just finished a long trip through eight States including LA, MS, AL, TN, SC, KT, OH, AR, It was as small vacation with 10 dayys of that preaching. The only place I disarmed was The Ark Encounter in KY because they had OC era everywhere with K-9‘a. They were not using a metal detector, but not kno...

Traveling to AR, TN and KY

My family is traveling to KY for Thanksgiving, driving through AR with overnight stops in TN. I did some research on the carry laws in all three states and they appear to be more or less the same as TX. All three states have reciprocity agreements with Texas, and/or allow constitutional carry. What ...

Re: Instructor Renewal

After you shoot the proficiency, does it matter who submits the LTC-100? Can I do it for myself, after the other instructor signs it, or does he have to submit it?

Hypothetical - asked not to carry in public venue

Say you're attending an event at an event center owned/operated by your local municipality - a birthday party, civic club meeting, etc. While at the meeting, one of the organizers of the event tells you that you can't carry during their event. The facility is not posted, and it would be enforceable ...

Re: School Safety Certification Instructor Training Class

I'm heading to the instructor's class this week and was wondering about places to eat lunch. When I was there for my LTC instructor's course many years ago, there wasn't any place close enough to the DPS facility to go and grab lunch during the day. Is that still case?

I can't find any information on the DPS/RSD site about renewals; the "Instructor Update" section still references the 2017 renewal. Do you have another source of information?

Re: School Safety Certification Instructor Training Class

I have been on the waiting list for the class since March 2017. I just called DPS and they said there is no update on my class. isn't one year wait excessive? I signed up this January and was told I'm 140 on the list with 5 more classes "tentatively" scheduled for 2018, max of 12 per clas...

Re: 357, 357 mag and 38

My understanding is that any .357 magnum revolver can also shoot .38 rounds; is that accurate? .38 Special, yes, upon which the .357 Mag was based - there are a bunch of .38 cartridges (.38 S&W, .38 Short Colt, .38 Long Colt, etc) out there, so being specific is important. Is there a difference...

357, 357 mag and 38

Is there a difference between a .357 and .357 magnum revolver, or are those the same thing?
If there is a difference, can a .357 revolver (not a magnum) also shoot .38s?

Re: Allen Event Center posted 06 & 07

Sorry this is a few days late and couple dollars short, but a friend and I went to the gun show at the Allen Event Center two weekends ago and upon entering saw two 06 & 07 signs as we paid. The Texas3006.com web site also says the signs are invalid. Who do we need to contact to get them to obe...
