Re: CHL Instructor Renewal Class
Quote: There were some in my class that fit in that category too. Sgt. Holmes ripped some of 'em pretty hard, rightfully so. Lady on my right during revolver qualifications was milkin' a big old Model 66 - maybe closing her eyes ??? - and put 5 rounds into MY target. :???:[/quote] And I bet before t...

You and the student signs on the back of the photos. Both photos go in an envelope with "Photos enclosed" and the students name printed on the envelope. Be sure they fill out the photo sheet with black ink and have the student sign in the middle of the bottom block, not to one side or the ...

Re: CHL Instructor Renewal Class
Kymberly and I attended the instructor renewal Tuesday and, I must admit, I was somewhat disappointed. Lt. Hitt did a pretty good job, but the presentations used haven't been changed in years. The misspellings haven't been corrected, and they're still teaching from pre-2007 statutes; the Castle Doc...

Re: New Certificates of Training Form - CHL-100
I was thinking of having three part NCR forms printed. They would work just like to old TR-100's. Might cost almost as much as well!

Re: CHL Instructor Renewal Class
I was there 8/31/09. Found out Sgt. Holmes is transfering out of CHL dept. New rangemaster at Florence is Lt. Odie Hitt. They could not tell us on Monday what the new TR-100's would look like or if they would be available on 9/1/09. Lt. Hitt griped about some of us doing our qualifications with 6&qu...

Re: New Certificates of Training Form - CHL-100
Was in an Instructor renewal class Monday, 8/31/09. The admin lady told us if we call and order the packets shipped to a PO Box we would get them sooner than if they went to a street adress. Currently the USPS is delivering faster than UPS. Imagine that! They are no charge and they said nothing abou...

Re: My first class
I don't take deposits but I do require online registration and I send e-mail reminders. Our no-show rate is 20 percent on the average. If they "no-show" and try to sign up for a later class I require full payment in advance. Once they have an investment made they usually show.

Re: New Student Test Available on DPS Site
Am I the only one who was hoping for something better on the next iteration of the CHL student test? So many questions are just plain silly. The "All of the aboves" are predictable. They focus heavily on address changes and Motorist Protection Act, and miss an opportunity to ask some rele...

Re: more changes in the works
At the rate the State is rejecting ink prints, they can basicly make it mandnatory without putting it in writing. Our reject percentage has gone from about 3% two years ago to 73% as of late. We gave up and are sending everyone to fastprint.

Re: TR-100s ?
I ordered a bunch. If they do go away, I was afraid Austin would run out prior to the law taking effect and I am out of business until then. If I get stuck with some so be it.
