For 2007 I only have a few wishes, along with many already posted. 1. Employee parking area exemption or protection despite company policy That would be the same as HB 896 from last session, mentioned earlier, that made it through committee but died a quiet death because it never made it to the flo...

Good rebuttal to her irrational ravings and lies. One point that hit home for me was your statement: Maybe it's time for them to go after automobile manufacturers, for allowing people to drive their products drunk. I'll bet they are just as successful. THAT is one statistic that is rarely brought up...

Re: Bars
Placing generalized restrictions on carry just because you have some aversion to what others believe is normal behavior is the same thing the gun grabbers are doing on a daily basis. This no carry if a little alcohol is involved is bull. Hang a sign around my neck that says "Rob me I have been...

Public Intoxication
What purpose does a bar have if it's illegal to be intoxicated there? I don't buy into the pre-emptive policing ideas, it's the same argument gun control advocates use all the time. I don't mean for this to sound glib or sarcastic, but... A publicly accessible establishment is just that; public. If...

AIR CONDITIONING!!! The last month has been sweat city at winchester shooting gallery and the shooting club in FW. I have had to wear a sweat band just to be able to see my sights. Winchester tried to help out by putting up an oscilating fan just to move a breeze. Come on - make the place cool for ...

Girlfriend received her CHL yesterday
A grand total of 69 total work days after sending it in initially. She received the license yesterday 39 work days after DPS receipt of her fingerprint do-over.
She is thrilled about it. Now she is debating all of her options for carry.

For 2007 - Reintroduce HB 896
HB 896 Author: David Farabee (Wichita/Archer counties) Made it through committee but never got out of the calendar. This bill would prohibit a public or private employer from establishing, maintaining, or enforcing a policy or rule that prohibits a person licensed to carry a concealed handgun from t...

Total of 71 days or 50 'working' days, so my time looks to be about the average.

Progress is good- When I am the 'Progressee'
This evening the web site changed from "Processing Application" to "Application Completed - license issued or certificate active". So I guess it should just now be "in the mail" to me. The end of today makes 47 "working days" since they received it. I'll "...

A watched mailbox.......
As of today it has been 36 days for us. GF had to redo her fingerprints. Trooper at the local DPS office took care of that and it is back in Austin. The web site has the same old "Processing Application" constantly posted. I wonder if it is an accurate status or only a pacifier put there t...

I have not received my CHL in the mail yet (it has only been 34 WORKING days - after all!). I have read posts listing some magnificent firearms that are being carried concealed. Some of the guns carry with them price tags that border on 4 figures. My area of concern is if (God forbid) it becomes nec...
