Re: Concealed Carry at TxDOT Offices
I recently went to the local drivers' license office here in Houston (sure, it may not be a DOT office, but I believe it's close enough to be on-topic, and I'd like some feedback on it) to apply for my veteran's designation on my drivers' license ( http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/driverlicense/VetServi...

Re: Poll: 2013 Session
How about penalties for municipalities that violate preemption? I absolutely agree with this one. If we break the law, then we're hung out to dry. But they continue to ignore the law, and we're caught in the crosshairs having to defend ourselves in a court of law if we carry as we are legally allow...

This should be cross-posted in the "Leo Contacts and Bloopers" thread as a positive note for our Texas LEOs!

Re: VOTE!
I was so proud when I walked up to vote, handed over my ID, and when I went to sign in I saw where my oldest child had voted in her first Presidential election! I almost cried. She is very patriotic, and very proud to be American. Made my heart swell! She texted me when she was done, but I was busy...

Yes, I do know it should be MCDLXIV, but the result is the same: 1464.

OK to Carry in the TX DPS Office?
I think I know the answer to this, but it never helps to ask a bunch of pros, since I'm still relatively new. It's OK to carry in the TX Driver's License office while I'm renewing, isn't it? I'm heading down later today, and I don't want to push my luck. Again, thanks to all for helping this newbie ...

If you're careful, you can play pretty rough with the kids and not be discovered. I carried a Glock 36 .45 caliber in a moderately good IWB holster under an untucked shirt while playing with the 3-6 year-olds on the big inflatable toys during my daughter's birthday party at Pump it Up ( http://www.p...

Re: Joe Straus and concealed carry on campus
Politics is such a fun, addictive, (and corrosive) topic. When I look across the ballot, I make it a personal goal not to blindly vote a straight party ticket, just because I think that I owe it to myself to become informed before I walk into the ballot box. Note I said 'blindly vote a straight part...
