"But after my stint in the military lining up for chow there is no restaurant on this planet I'd wait 30 minutes to eat at, much less an hour --especially the Olive Garden." Funny you should say that. Exactly the position of my father when we were growing up. Same reason as yours. He woul...

Does anyone have a kind of stock letter for mailing business that post 30.07/30.06 signs? There are more eloquent people around this forum than I :)

Re: Walmart Neighborhood Market Posts 30.07

Walmart's policy has always been to follow local laws. Wondering if we have a drive-by signing here? Has anyone mentioned it to the manager?

Re: How to report improper §30.06 signs

Are there stats/a study for that somewhere? I know DPS stats show that for CHL vs. general population, but I haven't seen one for CHL vs. LEO.

Re: Who is going to open carry?

Will probably switching from IWB back/behind hip holster to a more hip OWB carry, and just leave a shirt hanging over. I can't seem myself OCing unless it's an activity where it makes more sense (to me personally) - like at a gun range or out in the country on someone's property and so on.

Re: Church with Preschool

Not sure you are going to find a black and white answer. http://www.texaschlforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=62745#p770133 Daycare's are not schools. Pre-school is also not a school. There is not case law that defines exactly what a school is, but it is generally believed to be a public school that...

Re: Church with Preschool

I carry into my wife's work - a preschool in a church (which is not posted)- all the time. It's not a 'school' as far as the penal code is concerned.

EDIT: I am also not a lawyer :)

Re: Texans Respond to License to Carry

KCBD in Lubbock just ran a story about how the city is considering banning concealed carry (which is currently 'allowed') from city council meetings. I thought this was not something they could decide to do? EDIT: Hm, maybe not. (c) A license holder commits an offense if the license holder intention...

86% - and whole 'less of a man argument' is stupid. I'm not going to start a fight, and if someone starts a deadly confrontation to me, I'm under no obligation to fight fair.

Re: Texans Respond to License to Carry

Ugh, hearing rumors that our HR department is modifying our policies to include a 'no weapons' entry. Previously the only mention of weapons was in regards to company vehicles - stating if you were licensed you could carry in accordance with state laws. I'm told this is due to insurance crap.

Definitely seems like overkill for shoplifters. Hopefully they had a valid reason to believe people were in danger.

Re: Slap on the Wrist for a Serial SWATer

No-knock warrants are just dangerous, and being an outsider, I would say overused. I think they tend to be used to justify all that expensive tactical gear - instead of providing the best equipment for our LEOs when it's actually needed. Haven't we already had LEOs shot because of this kind of thing...
