Re: Springfield Armory XD .45acp

Just bought myself a new XD 45 Service model today. :coolgleamA: Any of our members had any experience - good or bad - with this weapon? I've read a number of reviews on the weapon but am more intersted in the opinions of our group... Thanks! Shot em and love em. If I ever find myself in a position...

Re: Waiting and still NADA

I had a paycheck go from Trophy Club to Wylie (1 hour drive) via Little Rock once. It took so long, there was a stop payment put on it, and a new check was issued and received in the mail before I received the first one. :mad5

Re: church carry

so governmental meeting are only off limits if posted??? I need to re-read the stat's, and I wouldn't mind a bit of convincing. Being an active board member of a governmental agency (ESD), we meet in a city owned building with no "court rooms". So, unless the entry into the building in wh...

Re: open carry

My new daily carry. http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/gg313/tactical_texan_chl/phaser.jpg I like to hide it under a 5.11 vest. No need for extra ammo, nothing. It's GREAT! You know, they make that in a compact version; http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v484/txinvestigator/star_trek_phaser_hand.jpg...

Re: church carry

"You may not carry handguns in hospitals or nursing homes, amusement parks, places of worship or at government meetings if signs are posted prohibiting them" Slight topic change here... How can governmental meetings be enforceable posted? Because under PC 46.035 meetings of a government e...

Re: Paperwork mailed out today

Well, I've officially begun the waiting game. Today (01/25/08) I mailed my application out via certified mail. One quick question, though. I've seen you guys talking about getting your PIN for checking online status, but I haven't seen anyone mention exactly how you receive this PIN. Can someone en...

Re: Forgive me, for I have sinned

This thinking and actions displayed in this paragraph are just amazing; and is certainly why we have some many victims; There were only two other cars in the lot at the time that were anywhere near my vehicle. I immediately felt threatened by their demeanor, but continued on to my car . The smaller ...

Someone wake me up if a NEW argument gets posted, regardless which side of the issue it's on! :yawn "rlol" Chas. I have two! In case of Zombies. It is known that zombies won't attack an openly armed person. Aliens. To an alien your open carried handgun will look like a PHASER, and they ar...

Re: Waiting and still NADA

I have been lurking for several months now and decided it was time to join the party. The DPS website changed to 'Application completed, license Issued' on January 5th. 2008. So I waited, waited and waited some more and nothing. I called on Tuesday and was told it mailed out on January 10th. I have...

Re: church carry

I was reading the new printing of the instructor manual and the book given to students. Both books still state that CHL is not allowed to carry in religous building. This could cause a problem, as the instructors and members of this forum state that the building needs to be posted 30.06. What "...

Re: Concealed Handgun Selection

Frankie: If your fingers on the trigger, it’s there because you are attempting to shoot the weapon. If that’s not your intent, then it should be indexed outside the trigger guard. That’s independent of single or double action. The only pistol I’ve actually used in a gunfight was a 1911, and...

Re: Concealed Handgun Selection

Frankie, I went from a Glock to a Kimber 1911 and it only took me about a hour of drawing it to get use to the safety on it, and under stress if you practice with a 1911 you will have muscle memory and it will work every time. Doc It's the "under stress" part that is the ley element for m...
