Re: Is The CHL Proficiency Test Sufficient?

A 4 hour course only covers the basic's in getting your license. What you guys do with that basic knowledge & how you further develope your knowledge & skills are your responsibility. I do have some suggestions, 1. If you have any kind of history, for your own protection, clean it up, see if...

Re: Pennsylvania CHL Holder Arrested in New Jersey

what about safe passage laws? I always had the understanding that if you are a resident of a state where its legal to carry a firearm in your vehicle that you are safe driving thru other states as long as the firearm stays out of sight/unloaded? Thankfully I have no need or desire to travel anywhere...

Re: "Waiting Room"

Aaaaahhhgh! I got a letter from RDS yesterday informing me of a delay on my app due to an arrest back in 1989 that I didnt list. The reason why I didnt list it was mainly because I was 19 yrs old at the time, I was given 30 days probation for a misdemeanor battery (not family related) But my father ...

Re: Questions on Driving thru States that don't honor TXCHL

I travel often between Texas & illinois and although a Texas CHL is good for OK & MO but not illinois. What I've done was to purchase a "nano Vault" and unload my pistol and lock it up in the vault that is tethered with a steel cable to the trunk, the ammo is locked up in a seppara...

Re: Weird Encounter in Louisiana… not sure if 'real'

No, In no way shape or form was this guy in the PU truck a LEO or anything else of importance. Just some knucklehead, thats all... However, with all the weirdo's in the world, I would have allowed him to pass and not draw even more attention to myself from a chowderhead like this.. I used to drive a...

Re: Calibers for proficiency

Me personally I feel it would be very wise to pass the test, practice & carry the exact pistol and/or caliber you plan on carrying. My concern is newbies passing their proficiency with a .22 target pistol then going out & buying a .40 and carrying it without much practice. With that being sa...

Re: Will I be able to own a weapon?

Wrong. Deferred adjudication is considered a conviction for the purpose of obtaining a CHL. Federally he is fine to own a handgun, he just can't carry it on his person away from home or car. Wow... 1. the OP said he just completed his deferred adjudication for aggravated assault with a deadly weapo...
