You could put a 5", 10", 14" or 20" barrel on a pistol and it still would be a pistol rather than a SBR.

For what you pay for a Galco, they should make it for whatever barrel length you desire. That said, a commander fits just fine in a full-size 1911 holster. There's extra leather (or synthetic) but that don't bother the pistol none.
