Re: AG Paxton charged with fraud

Criminal charges from the state and civil from the feds. Lots of ways to look at this one, but time will tell if there's anything to it. One thing's for sure. He'll have some huge legal bills to pay.

Re: Andrea Brauer: Texas should provide free gun locks to save lives

Keeping a firearm in a locked container, unloaded, is the equivalent of parking your car in the garage with an empty gas tank. You might as well get a bicycle. It's always laughable to read opinions of people who know nothing about guns expressing their ideas about how to solve the "gun violenc...

Re: Went shooting today

So baldeagle, now that you own an AR and have shot it, what do you think? Would you buy/build others? Is it an addiction yet? I'm retired, so money for new weapons is not as readily available as it once was. I bought this rifle for the zombie apocalypse. So, I probably won't be buying another...

Re: Went shooting today

[quote="AndyC"]I've zeroed this way for years, but just in case:
I could do that, if I could see the holes.

As it was, I had to walk 100 yards to look at the target to see where I was hitting - and I was enjoying shooting too much to stop.

Went shooting today

Went with my friend Nick back to B-Tactical in Caddo Mills and worked on zeroing the scope at 100 yards. Here's the results: 100_1020.jpg 100_1019.jpg This is my AR-15 with Weaver Classic Extreme 2.5x10 56MM scope. The lower is a New Frontier (polymer), and the upper is a 5.56 stainless from SOTA 10...

I couldn't help but notice that UTD has done nothing so far. Par for the course.

Re: Sling attachment points

This is my fore-end. As you can see, there's nothing to attach to except the small picatinny rail toward the front of the barrel.

Re: Does the Bible Enshrine a ‘God-Given Right’ to Shoot in Self Defense?

When the jihadists walk into your church with AK-47s, you'd better pray someone is armed. Some many ones. Trying to find a biblical imperative for the right to bear arms is silly. Common sense tells you it's foolish to be a victim. Without defensive weapons, that's exactly what you are. Ask the East...

Sling attachment points

I've decided to get a VCAS sling for my AR. My problem is, I don't understand the various attachment systems. Can somebody explain that to me? I know the rear attachment point is the loop at the end of the buttstock, which I have on mine, but I don't have a front attachment point. What should I get?

Re: Range with no restrictions on ammo

Yeah, it's pretty frustrating. That's why I mentioned this range. I took soft points, but I was able to shoot my ball ammo as well. The range is rather spartan. Wood shooting benches, and you walk out to staple your targets, but the price is far and being able to shoot ball ammo is a definite plus. ...

Range with no restrictions on ammo

I went to B-Tactical today with a friend and shot my AR. The only ammo they don't allow is tracers. Ball is fine as is JHP and anything else. The cost is $17 a day for unlimited use of the 50 and 100 yard ranges. No range officers, so you have to agree to a cease fire with the rest of the shooters, ...
