Re: New CHL 16

Is it my printer or is anybody else getting upside down question marks instead of f on certain sections? I swear my printer is nuts.

New CHL 16

Wow, I just printed out the new law book. Is it me or is this the biggest mess ever?

Only 12 pages more but it reads like 30 more. LOL

Re: Good media story-Corpus CHL

I missed that report, thanks for posting. I teach in Corpus as well, and was really frustrated last week by the bad reporting channel 3 and the Caller Times have done. The paper said one instructor who teaches at our club has 120 students per class. LOL

Good job for your kin and Chan 6.

They changed their mind today. LOL :thumbs2: They decided to follow the law. :rules: Said they would wait a few months and see if there were any changes in the law. :headscratch

Re: Don't Laugh...25 Auto

I think I would prefer a .22lr over the .25 acp.

In the mid 80's I had a gun shop and decided to test a Raven .25. It functioned well until I shot the bottom of a laundry basket. It still functioned but the projectile bounced back and hit me between the eyes.

Re: AG Opinion on CHL in multiple use government buldings

And Nueces county just went ahead and posted its county buildings including the courthouse. :banghead: http://www.kristv.com/story/30801208/nueces-county-moving-forward-with-handgun-ban-in-courthouse I hope they get hammered with the penalties. Me too, we have several discussions going locally.

Re: Who is going to open carry?

I'm all for it for most all reasons previously stated. I feel my OC will be limited to maybe trips from the ranch to town for ice, etc. when I'm already wearing my pistol belt. Mostly in the evening time. I will continue to CC. My only concern is the OC folks with the horizontal shoulder rigs, Miam...

We averaged 61 new members a month this year and we do not advertise. We must be doing something right. :tiphat:

Re: Open Carry at Gun Club

Thanks for all the ideas guys. We have not had many issues with concealed firearms other than a couple of idiots pulling their loaded firearm out to show someone their new toy. I expect a few more episodes of that with open carry so I think we need to make it clear where we stand on the issue. It is...

Re: Open Carry at Gun Club

Private club = private club's rules. You should have a board of directors or some equivalent. There needs to be a clear policy on this. Depending on your bylaws maybe there should be an open meeting or two or other method for all members to vote on the matter. Private club = private club's rules. Y...

Re: Open Carry at Gun Club

[quote="AndyC" From a safety perspective it's incongruous and confusing to allow, from the range backwards 1. loaded firearms on the firing line - then 2. behind them UN-loaded firearms while waiting to shoot - and 3. behind all of those, loaded firearms again. My point exactly. Alternativ...

Re: Open Carry at Gun Club

LOL this is where we are right now. Like you Richbirdhunter , when I brought the subject up some felt that members should be able to open carry loaded and not worry about it. I'm on board with Andy, but that was met with some resistance to say the least. My main concern is safety, and it is also tri...

Open Carry at Gun Club

OK, at the risk of getting blasted I am going to bring up this discussion. First some details. In addition to being a CHL instructor, I am the President of a large Gun Club with over 2,000 members. We have skeet, trap, 5 stand, which are open to the public, as well as a rifle range and 16 bays open t...
