Texas CHL Reciprocity: A Different Perspective

From the outside looking in, Texas does a pretty good job of establishing reciprocity agreements with other states. Some states get unilateral recognition, but from their perspective it doesn't matter, they're able to carry on their license in Texas. 47 out of 50 states offer licenses to carry a han...

Re: Dallas Area Texas Self-Defense & Deadly Force Laws Semin

Would timing it during the week of the TSRA meeting make more sense?

I may be able to get a location, but it would be in Dallas off of 635 between DNT and 75.

Re: Nite sights for a Glock 21?

I'm a big fan of the XS 24/7 big dot night sights, you may want to give them a look. I have them on my G19 and G30. Installation is a breeze too!

Re: Shoot... Don't Shoot?

I have often heard people say something similar to your instructor. When I have asked for clarification from them they typically say that if you draw, you need to be prepared to use your gun. I agree with this line of thought because you've introduced a pistol that could be used against you, if you ...

You only have a DD 214 if you've been released from the military.
Now I understand the question more clearly! :tiphat:

Re: Carrying concealed in a clinic

In Texas hospitals must post valid 30.06 signs to restrict CHLs from carrying. A clinic must do the same. This is found in the often overlooked (i) section of PC 46.035 Sec. 46.035. UNLAWFUL CARRYING OF HANDGUN BY LICENSE HOLDER. (a) A license holder commits an offense if the license holder carries ...

Re: OH: Alcohol establishment carry in the works

Glad to hear your state is adopting reasonable CHL laws. Unfortunately, we do not currently have reciprocity with Ohio http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/administration/crime_records/chl/reciprocity.htm . That is because Texas will not recognize an Ohio license. Texas reciprocity requires the other state...

Re: Where are you most vulnerable?

When armed, the place I feel most vulnerable is the public restroom. Your back is normally to the door. You do not always have a free hand. Looking around at everyone coming in and out could cause other 'issues'. Quick story: We have a locker room at work, with the showers and locker room separated...

Re: Civil immunity issues at CHL renewal

The instructor makes more money off of his sales pitch for the prepaid legal than he does off of his course fees. IMO he would rather take your money rather than enhance your understanding of the law.
