Re: Powerful message from the NRA
Well I was grumbling about it because I was looking for Current/Timely information on the NRA's response to the EA, and this is all old news here despite the link's headline.

Re: Powerful message from the NRA
That "warning" was dated Dec 5 but the video it references was posted to YouTube in October. The Luttrell video is from 9/11/2015.
I appreciate that some here want to raise awareness, but to present this as "breaking news" in the face of Obama's executive action is....

Re: Almost went to jail!!!
Yikes nine pages, for a troll!!! :???:  It seems to me this signage thing is pretty simple though: if you're carry a firearm, whether concealed or open, you are always on the lookout for signage. So if you see a sign, ANY sign including one that says simply "no guns", if you walk-in ...

Re: Stealing packages from mailbox
I am a postal delivery man and deliver packages daily. I wouldn't even consider stealing someone's package. I don't believe most would. It would be problematic if packages always seemed to come up missing or empty on my route wouldn't it? We postal workers under go a very thorough background invest...

Re: Stealing packages from mailbox
Bodes ill for the so-called SmartPost option that many are using these days, where FedEx (and UPS too I believe) will deliver your package to the USPS which does the final delivery. All kinds of problems with this, such that I wish e.g. Amazon would let you select the shipping method, even if FedEx ...

Re: Ruger Gunsite Scout Opinions
I own a .308 GSR (in left y) and love it. Have never had FTE or problem of any kind. I highly recommend the rife for anyone wanting a god bolt action rifle in a shorter , handier package. You bumped an almost 3 year old thread but since you did, grabagun.com has these for crazy low prices right now...

I did sneak-in some much needed grass-cutting yesterday (had gotten almost knee-high) and hopefully you too had a dry enough day for a nice outing with the youngun. Young-one that is.

Re: Moving to Austin area
Congrats on your move ShrinkMD. Austin certainly needs all the mental health professionals it can get!
Seriously, you will like it and you DON'T have to live in the city unless that's your thing.

Re: What a German soldier of WWII thought of US soldiers.
One of my good friends Dad was a German soldier in WWII. He lost his entire family and school mates to allied bombing raids and was drafted at age 16, given a uniform and a rifle and sent to fight in the Battle of the Bulge. He talked mainly about the artillery barrages and how many people were kil...
Re: NRA Ads?
As far as selling the data, most of what you can buy as a marketer is junk. So most are good with building their own lists and data. And those lists never get sold or traded. Perhaps this belief gives you comfort, but I don't trust it for one second, have experience suggesting the opposite, and wil...

Re: NRA Ads?
CBS' 60 Minutes did a piece a year or so ago on these data tracking companies and it opened my eyes wide. There are hundreds of companies tracking everything you do online and in many cases sharing the info so that a VERY CLEAR picture of who you are and what you're interested in can be assembled. I...

Re: 15 Republican 2016 hopefuls: Their personal firearms.
I would be interested in seeing what the liberal democrats have. I wonder what Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid have. They would more than likely lie about it. lol One wonders how the hysterical nut-cases who are screaming for a gun ban can be so clueless about how many firearms are woven into the fabri...

Re: Is The CHL Proficiency Test Sufficient?
I find it disturbing that some in this thread are confusing Training and Gun Safety with the CHL testing requirements (which are primarily about being exposed to Texas law), and who feel that more needs to be done by the Government before people can get-or-keep their CHL. And this from gun people i....
