Re: Interesting

How can you articulate that I am being detained if you don't tell me what crime you suspect me of? Whats supposed to stop me from walking off? Just because you tell me I'm detained? How long are we going to stand there and stare at each other?

Re: Interesting

Now we are comparing apples and oranges. Arrest is one thing based on PC. A detention is based on RS, which may or may not lead to PC for an arrest. Being in LE, I believe there is a significant difference.

Re: Interesting

RS of a crime being committed.... There is no crime with OCing a rifle AND that is evident by the lack of a gun charge. You don't think after all this, they wouldn't jam him up with anything and everything they could? The cop made himself look like an idiot when he said Rudely Displaying a Gun and t...

Re: Interesting

Again, SCOTUS disagrees with you. There never should have been an opportunity for the officer to gauge attitude because there never should have been a stop. Or maybe you don't have have a problem with "let me see your papers". No, wrong, massively wrong. First the cop is free to walk up a...

Re: Interesting

And the law also says that the police are allowed to stop you for reasonable cause. The reason they put reasonable in there is because it changes due to time and place but even if his actions are totally legal that doesn't mean the police are not allowed to stop him . Your behavior can be legal and...

Re: Interesting

[ That is also why I will most likely never OC a AR like that because I dont want any cop to have any reason to come talk to me. I do OC a handgun in Virginia and Pennsylvania (where it is legal to do so) because then that NFA bug cant bite me. Really? Handguns can be full-auto too. Glock 18C for e...

Re: Harry Reid has flipped. Will vote on Assault Wep & Mag B

Perhaps this is his end game... Support it.... Get it added, Gun controlled killed by filibuster... Reid can claim true to his base, avoid tough votes for those in red states and gets an 'at a boy' from the gipper (Obama)... He has a few years to recover, if he intends to run again...

Re: Interesting

What changes with numerous citizen complaints? If multiple people are calling in, they have to investigate, no? Brian Hypothetical. 911 calls come in reporting a man walking down the street with a rifle. The 911 operator has a choice. They can ask more questions (is he shooting? Is he doing anythin...

Re: Interesting

I watched a video, that was posted by a supposed friend and initially the camera is around his neck. He, with the help from cop, it appears as its hard to tell. He then hands it off to his son and instructs him to keep recording.

Re: Ricin laced letter sent to US Senate office

It was to a Republican Senator that is openly critical of the Democrats and a gun rights supporter. I read elsewhere there was a note where the perp said something about the Senator did not listen before but he would now and people would die. The investigators have an idea of who it was. Hope they ...

Re: Interesting

Maybe I'm mistaken, but I thought that the SCOTUS ruling stated that the presence of a firearm (where legal) was not in and of itself reasonable cause. And you think that is all the officers saw, heard, felt when making contact? I'm not an expert but even someones attitude and facial expressions ca...

Re: Sheila, Sheila, Sheila

I get it... mental health issue = no guns... BUT nothing apparently makes one ineligible to hold public office. And we wonder what is wrong with this country? I don't! As much as I wish we could have minimum standards for politicians (and voters), I keep coming back to wondering where I get off tel...

Nor are there "brandishing" laws either. The closest you get is intentional failure to conceal by a CHLer or Disorderly Conduct (as shown above).
