Re: HB1911 Com Substitute
They are too busy getting their pictures taken with Tony Romo to do anything that really matters. Oh, well. We only have to wait another 2 years, or 4 or 6.... I wonder where organizations like MDA are having their celebration parties? I've said it before, politicians are only interested in themselv...

Re: The clock is ticking (May 8), but what does it mean?
Reduced fees looks to pass and the politicians will talk about how they stood up for gun rights. Reduced fees are no different than if they reduced the fee for a drivers license. If 1911 doesn't pass MDA will celebrate and the politicians will make excuses about how they didn't have the time they ne...

Re: What is status Restoration of Gun Rights in Austin?
Why keep paying Texas when the legislature keeps blocking real reform? My other license offers as much or more, and for less money. because growing the number of LTCs sends a message to Austin (legislature). being invisible by virtue of reciprocity doesn't. We're invisible anyway. The number will n...

Re: Bills to fix the private entity leasing a government building loophole
So does that mean two more years of being refused entry to government property controlled by non-profit organizations? At least that long, except maybe for those who take inspiration from Stamp Act protests 250 years ago. It will be a lot longer than that unless our legislators grow a spine. HB560 ...

Re: SB 88- Making red light camera tickets illegal
Generally, a LEO reviews the images / video to determine if a violation has occurred. I'll bet the marginal ones are not cited. You do have due process in that you can contest the citation. The citation includes images. There is video which is where the images come from. The flash you see is for the...
Re: MOAB
I think calling it the "Mother Of All Bombs" is a bit sexist. Bombs are usually thought of as male. Unless of course this one identifies itself as female. Or maybe it's a transgender bomb.

Re: SB 88- Making red light camera tickets illegal
I hope it doesn't pass. In fact, I would like to see the fines made into a moving violation. I'd also like to see cameras at every intersection. It's one thing to have to squeak through the light. Something totally different to see 2, 3 or 4 cars go through the light.

Re: Erosion of Nevada Castle Doctrine
If it were to pass I guess the only solution would be to make sure the criminal reaches ambient temperature. Of course you would probably have to deal with the family of the darling angel that never did any thing wrong. (Even though his rap sheet is 3 feet long.) To me "duty to retreat" me...

Re: Fix 30.06 & 30.07 Sign Requirements
The biggest fix I would like to see is requiring the signs posted at every entrance, or at least every public entrance. I would agree with this whole heartedly. 30.07 is required to be at each entrance. It would make sense for it to be posted at each entrance for 30.06. Otherwise, someone could mis...

Couple of things about HB 1911
I was reading the text of HB 1911 and came across a couple of things. 30.06 / .07 would be amended to include unlicensed carry. A good change is that 30.06 signs would have to be posted at ALL entrances just like 30.07. Unless I'm reading it wrong, licensed hospitals and nursing homes would be off l...

Re: HB 560 - Holy Grail?
...Snip.... i hope something (good) comes out of this legislative session... Don't hold your breath. Maybe some "fluff" like allowed calibers or giving somebody a discount will pass, but nothing worth anything. For such an allegedly gun friendly state, Texas sure isn't looking like it. If...

Re: Ft Worth Enforcing Ammo Ban at Will Rogers
All of the talk about the 30.06 / .07 is fine. Everyone can agree that the signs are not enforceable. However, the show organizer CAN prohibit almost anything they want. They can prohibit cigars if they want to. If they don't want you bringing in ammo (as a non vendor) or a loaded gun they are well ...

They know this guy has been doing this for a month and haven't done anything to improve security? If this is a chain hotel, I'd be on the phone with their corporate offices like nobody's business.
