ELB,

Good job! There's always a way if we apply our minds to a given problem.

Re: Going to the desert
Maybe preaching to this choir, but I thought your note wes very well done and I'm sure it was interesting to other readers as it was to me. I'll do my best to be safe and careful.

Re: Citizens Police Academy
The training was inside the Criminal Justice Building that houses both the Galveston PD and the Sheriff Dept. No mention was made of disarming but I believe everyone assumed that no firearms were allowed. We were told that when we started patrolling handicapped parking places not to carry and it was...

Re: Going to the desert
That is a great narrative about KSA. I will be in the Eastern Province and it is familiar to me because I worked for Aramco in Dahran for eight years. But it was a long time ago and I expect to see many changes, for the better I hope! One thing I'm sure has not changed is the driving. Without a doub...

Re: .22 long rifle ammunition
Jim,
It really is an absurd mess. Too bad we are forced to join the hoarders in order to have anything to shoot. On the other hand, I have never been impressed in either Walmart or Academy in Galveston, especially Academy.

Going to the desert
I'm about to go to Saudi Arabia for a three month consulting assignment. From what I see on the State Department's site, I might need a few prayers. It never hurts, that's for sure.
Thanks

Re: casual competition and learning what's available
Thanks for the info. I don't have a Glock but I do have a Heckler&Koch USP Compact 9mm. It might work better than my 1911 because of the recoil. Is the Glock so popular because of the light weight, price or both?
