Re: Texas "10 acre" rule for discharging a firearm outside of city limits?

How about a “suppressed” air rifle? https://airriflehunter.com/top-5-quietest-air-rifles/ I've actually gone that route. Picked this up this evening, pretty nice little rifle: https://www.academy.com/shop/pdp/crosman-shockwave-22-caliber-pellet-air-rifle#repChildCatid=1517045&bopisStoreId=239 A...

Re: Texas "10 acre" rule for discharging a firearm outside of city limits?

But I did find something else you might want to invest in. Raccoons are classified as fur bearing animals, not as game or pest animals. This means you need a trappers license, not a hunting license, to take them. And it defines taking as either shooting or trapping them and includes possession of t...

Re: Texas "10 acre" rule for discharging a firearm outside of city limits?

Last time I checked with the TX Dept of Wildlife, statewide, the minimum is 5 acres with counties having the ability to raise the minimum. For instance, here in Brown Co. the requirement is 10 Acres. When in doubt, ask a Game Warden! ;-) I'm unable to find the law that says that. Are you able to so...

Re: Texas "10 acre" rule for discharging a firearm outside of city limits?

Alright, Sheriff's office came back with more useful information. For my case being in a neighborhood, he said he'd expect it to fall under 22.05, Deadly Conduct. Sec. 22.05. DEADLY CONDUCT. (a) A person commits an offense if he recklessly engages in conduct that places another in imminent danger of...

Re: Texas "10 acre" rule for discharging a firearm outside of city limits?

Why not use a live trap and have them relocated? The Game Warden might help with that. I'm considering that route too. This has turned into more of an information exercise than anything else now given the wide range of answers I am able to find. It's a little bit bonkers. I'm just curious *what* my...

Re: Texas "10 acre" rule for discharging a firearm outside of city limits?

To be safe, I'd suggest contacting the county Animal Control and ask them to bring out some live traps (it's their job to dispose of nuisance animals). > Yep. That's a route I am going as well, I can get some traps from a friend to take care of it. ETA #2:. Another consideration would be if your ne...

Re: Texas "10 acre" rule for discharging a firearm outside of city limits?

It would be a county law/ordinance. I'm not aware of a state law for property outside city limits. There is a state law for inside city limits, with certain restrictions and limitations. Thanks! This is proving difficult to get a straight answer. Figured I'd give it a shot and call my local Constab...

Texas "10 acre" rule for discharging a firearm outside of city limits?

Can anyone point me to the section of law that restrictions discharging a firearm on your own property, outside of city limits, unless you are on more than 10 acres? I am seeing this cited in random websites and forums, but no actual source to back it up. I'm in Harris County, outside of any city li...

Next, the Rangers will find bribes and cartel ties, and it is off to Federal Prison for Cokie Poncho.

Funny enough, he voted against the bill that would have the Rangers investigate legislative corruption.

Re: DPS Affidavit: Poncho Nevarez Dropped his Cocaine

I was excited about his departure, but looking up his voting record - the man is an anomaly.

I don't get why he votes yes on some bills for our side, and no on others. What's his angle?

Yep, you heard that right. I haven't seen the mainstream media covering it yet.

One less guaranteed anti-gun vote in the legislature now.

Also just to be fair, the McDonalds case wasn't frivolous. McDonalds was holding their coffee at 190F - hot enough to cause third degree burns in 3 seconds if spilled. They had been warned multiple times that it was too hot and didn't do anything to change their policies. The lady got third degree b...
