Re: Call-To-Action: SB273 Re Unenforceable 30.06 signs
When accessing the Call to Action from the web site home page, SB283 appears on the second paragraph under "SB273 does not reduce current governmental authority". I'm getting fax machines at the first three numbers I've called on the list of committee members. Those are fax number for lett...

Re: Need Your Opinion for an Idea....
My inventory of ammo has too few parameters to require this. For my rocket motors, however, I'd create my own MS Access database. Keep on working on your system. Developing something like this can be fun. I've fed my children for decades by teaching people to do this kind of thing. I have and Excel ...

Re: Disarming in your daily routine
When I have to disarm after leaving my property, I take my pistol out of my IWB holster and place it the door pocket of my vehicle so that it is not visible from the outside. Once back in the vehicle, I replace the pistol in its holster and drape my shirt over the pistol. When convenient, I'll retuc...

Re: Cuban Missile Crisis
I was in 4th grade during the Cuban missle crisis. I don't remember hearing or seeing anything about it at the time. I do remember the "duck and cover" drills. Fast forward to today. I spent 34 years with the Army's nuclear weapons systems. As a Pershing missile platoon leader, I had three...

Re: Campaign to urge doctors to ask about veteran status
I retired from the Army with 70% disability. Tricare is my primary health insurance. My doctor already knows.
In addition to more easily diagnosed injuries, veterns can suffer Traumatic Brain Injury. I fired cannons for 34 year. Got me some TBI.

Re: C.J. Grisham is factually-challenged
Grisham has many foolded, but not all. Referring to unlicensed open carry, KRIS TV in Corpus Christi posted "The question is whether outside antics have derailed those proposals' chances - even during a session that could be the most firearms friendly in years." http://www.kristv.com/story...

Re: I'm almost hoping Open Carry fails… here's why
Only one LEO encounter. My point is that open carry seems to have worked out well where I have OCed: OK, CO, and NM. I don't expect that Texans will be any less successful. I visited my brother (retired USMC Lt Col) in Colorado Springs, CO, in May of 2013. My wife and I had received our CHLs that Ap...

Re: I'm almost hoping Open Carry fails… here's why
In anticipating how the world will change should an open carry bill pass this session, we should look to the experiences of neighboring states. I spent 10 days in Pueblo, CO, last August with my BTA90 9mm on my hip the entire time. I visited Walmart, Radio Shack, hotels, Walgreens, auto parts stores...

Re: More Texas Women are Packing Heat
My wife and I both got our CHLs in 2013. We are both carrying right now. She likes her Ruger LCR .38 because the pistol and 2 speed loaders are easy to carry in her purse. She especially likes the Crimson Trace laser. However, the lightweight Ruber's recoil makes it uncomfortable for her to shoot re...

Re: Carry 'around the house'?
Yes. I have no children living in my house. I keep my double action/single action pistol loaded, round chambered, safety on. If I am not wearing it, it is nearby. My wife keeps her Ruger LCR handy. On my property, both inside and out, I do not conceal. When my younger children visit, our only change...

Re: Personal Defense Ammo
When do you decide that "I've carried this round long enough for to stake my life on it" and go plop them off at the range? ================================== No set plan. I just don't reload before going to the range. I fire my every day carry self defense ammo first, two magazines. Then...

Thank you, Charles. I earned my high school diploma in 1970. I've participated in visiting legislators and the governor with the homeschool community. I'm still learning the details of the inner workings of our state government. One constant is that civil discussion works best.

I always open carry on my property. When children are in my house, all firearms are legally carried or secured. My house, my rules. Your mileage may vary.
