Re: Tritium Sights - How Effective?
I've never had much luck with flashlights and sights. Living out in the country, I've had some experience with this. Like having to put down a sick coyote before daylight with my dogs trying to get at it. It was hard to get the flashlight to illuminate my .45 auto sights AND the coyote. Meanwhile k...

I certainly disagree that this is a problem with striker fired pistols only.

Re: Tritium Sights - How Effective?
For my tritium sights to be visible, it has to be dark enough that I can't tell what I am shooting at.
They are brighter when they are new, and need to be replaced every 10 years or so.
Just my 2 cents.

Re: Honor guard pistol BEWARE
I'm not sure what to think. Without a doubt, I prefer drop safe guns, but I also don't have any problems with my Series 70 Colt. Maybe I should, but I don't. I've had that gun since it was new in the box in the 70's. It's got a 3.5 pound trigger, as measured with an electronic trigger gauge, just l...

Abraham my friend: You are certainly the correct person to start this thread, which gives a lot of us the opportunity to vent! Here's some of my "things and sayings that annoy": Since I prefer accurate terms to approximate terms, I dislike it when people call revolvers "pistols"...

Re: Red Dot sight question.
I like my EOTech. Been using it maybe 10 years now with no problems.
I would not use it for precise shooting at 100 yards (smaller than 1").

Re: What knife do you carry?
If you carry a Glock as a carry gun, I would say no.CZp10 wrote:For those that own Benchmade, are they worth it? I have been thinking of getting one, but haven't pulled the trigger yet, so to speak.
If your carry gun is a Wilson/Brown 1911, then definitely yes.

You could do what I did, and buy one of those revolvers from the television that never need reloading!
Speed strips here.

I haven't owned them all, but the MP5 and P7 were two of the best firearms ever made.

Re: Water vs Bullets?
Since smokeless powder is sort of a plastic (nitrocellulose), it is pretty much unaffected by water. Primers are lacquer sealed, so I suspect water would not have an effect on them, either, even if the water made it through the flash-hole. And, military rounds used to be sealed at the bullet. Does a...

I did not want to divert the looting thread. But I do have a question. Suppose the roof blew off my home, and we had no power, and our stores (emergency supplies) were compromised. I take my family to another house on the block, whose owners have evacuated prior to the storm. Am I a "looter&quo...
