Re: Handgun VS Knife
Although this video apparently involved an incident in Mexico, I've seen numerous videos of American LEOs dealing with people armed with edged or impact weapons. In the majority of cases these days, the officers are seen backing up. I haven't worn a badge in decades, but I'm curious if this is the ...

Re: Had a Squib
I had a squib a while ago with one of my 300blk reloads. Same situation, the bullet was jammed into the head of the barrel preventing the next round from being chambered. Was able to knock it out and carry on as normal. You were fortunate. My Brother wasn't as lucky. No one hurt...but barrel ruined.

Re: Chucky and the deer blind.
About six years ago I had a decent deer blind that had been on the fence line at that time for about ten years. Had a agreement with the owner next door if you see something good on my side shoot it and vice-versa. Well one morning before entering the blind I saw the windows busted out first after ...

Re: Hobby Lobby issuing verbal notices
It was a good run folks. Shame to see we're on the downhill side. Because we've allowed a large portion of the public to conclude: 'Guns are scary'. As irrational as it is to think that law abiding, responsible citizens (armed) are somehow a threat...that's where we are folks. The public doesn't kn...

He only gave him a bullet instead of the gun. :-)

Re: Handgun VS Knife
The cop at least followed the rule of, don't stop shooting until the threat has stopped. Or in this case, the threat was on top of him. Unless you get a CNS shot or mechanically break them down (pelvis shot) I would fully expect a determined attacker to continue on for something close to 30-45 seco...

Re: Best of the West Closed
What a shame. My favorite place to shoot long range. Urban Sprawl claims another shooting range. Earlier this summer my Daughter wanted to do some Long Range Shooting (specifically 1 mile) so we had to go out to the Austin Gun Club, a drive that takes you nearly to Lampasas. Hate it the BOTW is clos...

Re: What were your political leanings at 18 years old?
There wasn't a choice for me, as I was a conservative Democrat (yes there were conservatives in the Democrat Party back then). I changed to the Republican Party with Reagan. My family is originally all from Kentucky and Georgia. Before Jimmy Carter, most of them did vote Democrat. Even though conse...

Re: Sheila Jackson Lee: House members will have to flood the Senate floor
Why wasn't she held accountable for her two lies under oath? I would imagine because it would be hard to prove she 'knowingly and willfully' stated something 'untrue'. She isn't the brightest person you'll ever meet. There is a difference in just being 'wrong' and knowingly attempting to deceive. T...
