Re: Texas DA Plans Marijuana Sanctuary
Dumb that Houston thinks it can ignore state law, but even dumber that we still have a laws against possession for personal use.

Re: HB560 and HB1911 in Same Session
I am all for HB1911 and glad that TSRA is apparently involved. Hope NRA backs it in a big way as well.
As for HB560 and HB1911, heaven forbid the TX leg pass TWO good gun bills in one session

Re: Some inside baseball on this session
Everything they want to accomplish, they will. Not one thing more, not one thing less. Don't believe the smoke and mirrors and remember pandering to the base (whether a law passes or not) keeps "R" seats full in the House and Senate. IMHO some bills are by design to keep financial supporte...

Re: And they stand adjourned again...
I have always been pleased that the TX leg only meets once every two years. I frequently brag about it to the handful of Yankees I know. IMHO the the TX leg will (as they always have) get done exactly what they want to in the time allowed. If something doesn't get done, it is because they didn't wan...

Re: Outragous - Dicks Sporting Goods
When asked for a phone number for use for a frequent buyers club (Petsmart, etc.) I always just go up one digit on the end. Been doing that for years. For those of you worried about some corpoartion capturing your zip code, check out this website: http://www.familytreenow.com They do allow you to op...

Re: TABC inspector strong arming business
I filed a complaint against my local liquor store when they posted 51% signs. ... How do you do this? I find plenty of links to report serving under age, over serving, serving outside hours etc etc. How do you report invalid signage? I'm thinking about a restaurant in Addison. They have 51% signs p...

Re: Ammo prices going down?
I deal with a major gun manufacture through work and there was a major ramp up in production of EVERYTHING from Ammo to ARs in advance of the election. I am not saying they have a glut, but the certainly are not having the store clearing panic they planned on. I would say the deals will continue as ...

Re: Texas Drone Law Contradictions?
I can suggest to only fly at your comfort level, don't get too brave with it. Take baby steps or bye-bye birdie. Second that. I had my "Christmas Drone" just long enough to fly it in the backyard and then immediately lose it while I was flying it near the river. It got higher and more los...

Re: Bills legalizing knuckle possession?
The law does not say asps or expandable batons are illegal to own, possess and have as it does knuckles. That's the difference. You are conflating two different issues. This discussion is about knuckles and not expandable batons. It would take legislative capital and energy to pass legislation maki...

Re: Bills legalizing knuckle possession?
I haven't seen any widespread interest in getting these things legalized and I do not believe it worth any political capital or energy to do so. Maybe LEOs could just read the law, and then enforce it as written. Not sure we need new laws to clarify what is written in a law already on the books. I ...

Re: Bills legalizing knuckle possession?
Where did the idea come from that you can carry a sword if you have your gun with a LTC? Texas penal code 46.02 is the part that states that carrying an "illegal knife" (includes knives over 5.5", swords, etc.) is illegal. Section 46.15 (b)(6) states that 46.02 is not applicable to a...

Re: Bill to Repeal GFSZA
What will I have to talk about on TexasCHLForum? If the GFSZA get repealed, schools will post 30.06/.07 even though it is public property. Based on thread concerning 30.06 signs this issue can be debated to no end. :biggrinjester: They don't need to repeal it that need to make it an add on ...
