Re: BATFE: Bump-Stock-Type Devices: Notice of proposed rulemaking
I don't know that the relevant agency has ever specifically opined that a given drug is legal, and then later decided that it is illegal without there being a change in law, so I don't think we have any good precedents here. When things are outlawed, there is frequently a grandfather clause include...

Re: Gun rusting after one day
All I can suggest is wetting all the metal surfaces with oil and wiping off the excess after reassembly. Maybe look for a good gun oil rather than an all-in-one CLP, though CLP's can be pretty good. Also, just strip it down and clean it more often.

I was also wondering if 1) has anyone worked on his trigger (pulled out that pin) or 2) was it a factory trigger?

Re: Oliver North to speak at 30.06ed Church
Well, that was a very long time ago so I will give him the benefit of the doubt for now. If he says something foolish, it won't do the NRA any good at all. Plus, from what I heard, he has been active with the NRA and served on the board for a few years now so he ought to know better now.

Re: Protectant for Parkerized Finish?
For a new firearm, oil the snot out of it and let it sit overnight. Much of the oil will soak in. Wipe off any that doesn't. Parkerization is a very porous finish, designed to hold oil next to the metal so it won't rust. That finish has been widely used by the military for many years. You don't see...

Re: Does anybody here still carry a revolver?
I have revolvers, but I am not set up to carry any of them except the little snubby. I need to fix that. I have a S&W with 3" barrel and 7-shot 357 magnum cylinder that would be a decent carry gun. I need at least one speed loader also.

Re: MS: VIDEO: Lone Cop Destroys Two Men Trying To Kill Him In Gas Station Gunfight
I was trying to figure out what was going on when the driver tried to exit the vehicle. I couldn't tell if the officer was trying to keep him in the vehicle or take him to the ground. It looked odd.
It looked like bullets for flying all over for a few seconds there. Glad no bystanders were hurt.

Re: Academy deal
Also at Academy, I was just noticing the local Academy had CCI subsonic 22 for about $8 per 100 rounds. Not a bad deal for good subsonic.
They also had match Federal 22 LR at about $3.30 per box of 50. That price wasn't posted, but shows up when you check the scanner.

Re: Balistol vs Hoppes
I used to use Hoppes #9 as my lube all the time. I started using a few different synthetic lubricants that I like better: Slip 2000 and Mpro7. The MPro7 has the best applicator on the bottle. I have some Froglube, but haven't tried to use it yet. The main reason I went to the non-petroleum lubes is ...

Re: Solid Math. You need an AR.
Any rifle with reasonable capability that you can use effectively will work. Even a 30-30 lever gun or a bolt action scout rifle would do the job if that is what you can use well. Stash a minimum store of ammo and magazines (if needed), get a good carry sling, and practice occasionally. However, I t...

Re: Hudson H9 - Own One? Review Please!
Oh, one other thing, not a lot of holster/mag holder options yet. Found both from DSG but they are only OK. Would like to see Comp Tac offer both. DeSantis sells a leather OWB holster for it. I got it through Amazon. I bought a leather holster from KesterFarmTack.com at the NRA show. It is better t...

Re: Hudson H9 - Own One? Review Please!
I saw the H9A at the NRA show also. It definitely feels a lot lighter than the H9. Sounds like it will be later this year. They wouldn't predict a release date. I think they got burned doing that last year. I was told the front sight was a standard front sight from an M&P or something like that....

Re: Bought a new toy
I picked up mine at my local range last week. Immediately converted it to use Glock mags. Mine shot well with 115, 124 and 147 grain ammo. I noticed quite a bit more gas since the action is closer to your face than a 9mm pistol is. I have no issue with its function, but oh my! this thing is homely....
